| 1 | さればわれ第一に勸む、凡ての人のため、王たち及び凡て權を有つものの爲に、おのおの願・祈祷・とりなし・感謝せよ。 | I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; |
| 2 | 是われら敬虔と謹嚴とを盡して、安らかに靜に一生を過さん爲なり。 | For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. |
| 3 | 斯くするは美事にして、我らの救主なる神の御意に適ふことなり。 | For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; |
| 4 | 神は凡ての人の救はれて、眞理を悟るに至らんことを欲し給ふ。 | Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. |
| 5 | それ神は唯一なり、また神と人との間の中保も唯一にして、人なるキリスト・イエス是なり。 | For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; |
| 6 | 彼は己を與へて凡ての人の贖價となり給へり、時 至りて證せらる。 | Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. |
| 7 | 我これが爲に立てられて宣傳者となり、使徒となり（我は眞を言ひて虚僞を言はず）また信仰と眞とをもて異邦人を教ふる教師となれり。 | Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity. |
| 8 | これ故にわれ望む、男は怒らず爭はず、何れの處にても潔き手をあげて祈らんことを。 | I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. |
| 9 | また女は恥を知り、愼みて宜しきに合ふ衣にて己を飾り、編みたる頭髮と金と眞珠と價 貴き衣とを飾とせず、 | In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; |
| 10 | 善き業をもて飾とせんことを。これ神を敬はんと公言する女に適へる事なり。 | But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. |
| 11 | 女は凡てのこと從順にして靜に道を學ぶべし。 | Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. |
| 12 | われ女の教ふることと男の上に權を執ることとを許さず、ただ靜にすべし。 | But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. |
| 13 | それアダムは前に造られ、エバは後に造られたり。 | For Adam was first formed, then Eve. |
| 14 | アダムは惑されず、女は惑されて罪に陷りたるなり。 | And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. |
| 15 | 然れど女もし愼みて信仰と愛と潔とに居らば、子を生むことに因りて救はるべし。 | Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety. |
