| 1 | 我がキリストに效ふ者なる如く、なんぢら我に效ふ者となれ。 | Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. |
| 2 | 汝らは凡ての事につきて我を憶え、且わが傳へし所をそのまま守るに因りて、我なんぢらを譽む。 | Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. |
| 3 | されど我なんぢらが之を知らんことを願ふ。凡ての男の頭はキリストなり、女の頭は男なり、キリストの頭は神なり。 | But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. |
| 4 | すべて男は祈をなし、預言をなすとき、頭に物を被るは其の頭を辱しむるなり。 | Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. |
| 5 | すべて女は祈をなし、預言をなすとき、頭に物を被らぬは其の頭を辱しむるなり。これ薙髮と異なる事なし。 | But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. |
| 6 | 女もし物を被らずば、髮をも剪るべし。されど髮を剪り或は薙ることを女の恥とせば、物を被るべし。 | For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. |
| 7 | 男は神の像、神の榮光なれば、頭に物を被るべきにあらず、されど女は男の光榮なり。 | For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. |
| 8 | 男は女より出でずして、女は男より出で、 | For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. |
| 9 | 男は女のために造られずして、女は男のために造られたればなり。 | Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. |
| 10 | この故に女は御使たちの故によりて頭に權の徽を戴くべきなり。 | For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels. |
| 11 | されど主に在りては、女は男に由らざるなく、男は女に由らざるなし。 | Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord. |
| 12 | 女の男より出でしごとく、男は女によりて出づ。而して萬物はみな神より出づるなり。 | For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God. |
| 13 | 汝 等みづから判斷せよ、女の物を被らずして神に祈るは宣しき事なるか。 | Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered? |
| 14 | なんぢら自然に知るにあらずや、男もし長き髮の毛あらば恥づべきことにして、 | Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? |
| 15 | 女もし長き髮の毛あらばその光榮なるを。それ女の髮の毛は被物として賜はりたるなり。 | But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering. |
| 16 | 假令これを坑辯ふ者ありとも、斯くのごとき例は我らにも神の諸 教會にもある事なし。 | But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God. |
| 17 | 我これらの事を命じて汝らを譽めず。汝らの集ること益を受けずして損を招けばなり。 | Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse. |
| 18 | 先づ汝らが教會に集るとき分爭ありと聞く、われ略これを信ず。 | For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it. |
| 19 | それは汝 等のうちに是とせらるべき者の現れんために黨派も必ず起るべければなり。 | For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you. |
| 20 | なんぢら一處に集るとき、主の晩餐を食すること能はず。 | When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord’s supper. |
| 21 | 食する時おのおの人に先だちて己の晩餐を食するにより、饑うる者あり、醉ひ飽ける者あればなり。 | For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken. |
| 22 | 汝ら飮食すべき家なきか、神の教會を輕んじ、また乏しき者を辱しめんとするか、我なにを言ふべきか、汝らを譽むべきか、之に就きては譽めぬなり。 | What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not. |
| 23 | わが汝らに傳へしことは主より授けられたるなり。即ち主イエス付され給ふ夜、パンを取り、 | For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: |
| 24 | 祝して之を擘き、而して言ひ給ふ『これは汝 等のための我が體なり。我が記念として之を行へ』 | And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. |
| 25 | 夕餐ののち酒杯をも前の如くして言ひたまふ『この酒杯は我が血によれる新しき契約なり。飮むごとに我が記念として之をおこなへ』 | After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. |
| 26 | 汝 等このパンを食し、この酒杯を飮むごとに、主の死を示して其の來りたまふ時にまで及ぶなり。 | For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come. |
| 27 | されば宣しきに適はずして主のパンを食し、主の酒杯を飮む者は、主の體と血とを犯すなり。 | Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. |
| 28 | 人みづから省みて後、そのパンを食し、その酒杯を飮むべし。 | But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. |
| 29 | 御體を辨へずして飮食する者は、その飮食によりて自ら審判を招くべければなり。 | For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. |
| 30 | この故に汝 等のうちに弱きもの病めるもの多くあり、また眠に就きたる者も少からず。 | For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. |
| 31 | 我等もし自ら己を辨へなば審かるる事なからん。 | For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. |
| 32 | されど審かるる事のあるは、我らを世の人とともに罪に定めじとて、主の懲しめ給ふなり。 | But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. |
| 33 | この故に、わが兄弟よ、食せんとて集るときは互に待ち合せよ。 | Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another. |
| 34 | もし飢うる者あらば、汝らの集會の審判を招くこと無からん爲に、己が家にて食すべし。その他のことは我いたらん時これを定めん。 | And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come. |
