절Good News Translation (1992)King James Version
1 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and because he is coming to rule as King, I solemnly urge you I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 to preach the message, to insist upon proclaiming it (whether the time is right or not), to convince, reproach, and encourage, as you teach with all patience. Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3 The time will come when people will not listen to sound doctrine, but will follow their own desires and will collect for themselves more and more teachers who will tell them what they are itching to hear. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 They will turn away from listening to the truth and give their attention to legends. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5 But you must keep control of yourself in all circumstances; endure suffering, do the work of a preacher of the Good News, and perform your whole duty as a servant of God. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
6 As for me, the hour has come for me to be sacrificed; the time is here for me to leave this life. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7 I have done my best in the race, I have run the full distance, and I have kept the faith. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8 And now there is waiting for me the victory prize of being put right with God, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that Day—and not only to me, but to all those who wait with love for him to appear. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
9
Personal Words
Do your best to come to me soon.
Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:
10 Demas fell in love with this present world and has deserted me, going off to Thessalonica. Crescens went to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia. For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.
11 Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, because he can help me in the work. Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.
12 I sent Tychicus to Ephesus. And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus.
13 When you come, bring my coat that I left in Troas with Carpus; bring the books too, and especially the ones made of parchment. The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.
14 Alexander the metalworker did me great harm; the Lord will reward him according to what he has done. Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:
15 Be on your guard against him yourself, because he was violently opposed to our message. Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.
16 No one stood by me the first time I defended myself; all deserted me. May God not count it against them! At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.
17 But the Lord stayed with me and gave me strength, so that I was able to proclaim the full message for all the Gentiles to hear; and I was rescued from being sentenced to death. Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
18 And the Lord will rescue me from all evil and take me safely into his heavenly Kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever! Amen. And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
19
Final Greetings
I send greetings to Priscilla and Aquila and to the family of Onesiphorus.
Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.
20 Erastus stayed in Corinth, and I left Trophimus in Miletus, because he was sick. Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick.
21 Do your best to come before winter. Eubulus, Pudens, Linus, and Claudia send their greetings, and so do all the other Christians. Do thy diligence to come before winter. Eubulus greeteth thee, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren.
22 The Lord be with your spirit. God's grace be with you all. The Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit. Grace be with you. Amen. The second epistle unto Timotheus, ordained the first bishop of the church of the Ephesians, was written from Rome, when Paul was brought before Nero the second time.
