1	Ijob: Wie groß und mächtig ist Gott! Ijob antwortete:	But Job answered and said,
2	»Du bist doch wirklich eine große Hilfe für einen kranken, schwachen Mann wie mich!	How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength?
3	Du kannst so gut beraten, weißt so viel und gibst es gern an arme Narren weiter!	How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is?
4	Wo hast du diese weisen Worte her? Sag, welcher Geist hat sie dir eingeblasen?	To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?
5	Sogar die Geister der Verstorbenen zittern dort in der Tiefe unterm Meeresboden.	Dead things are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof.
6	Die Totenwelt liegt nackt vor Gottes Augen, kein Schleier deckt den Abgrund vor ihm zu.	Hell is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering.
7	Gott spannt das Zelt des Himmels aus im Leeren und überm Nichts hängt er die Erde auf.	He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.
8	Das Wasser speichert er in seinen Wolken, die nicht zerreißen trotz der großen Last.	He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.
9	In dichte Wolken hüllt er seinen Thron, damit kein Auge ihn erblicken kann.	He holdeth back the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud upon it.
10	Rund um die Meere zog er einen Kreis; dort liegt die Grenze zwischen Licht und Dunkel.	He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.
11	Die Pfeiler, die den Himmel tragen, schwanken, Entsetzen packt sie, wenn Gott sie bedroht.	The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof.
12	Mit seiner Kraft hat er das Meer besiegt und Rahab umgebracht durch seine Klugheit.	He divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud.
13	Sein Atem hat den Himmel blank gefegt, den schnellen Drachen hat sein Arm durchbohrt.	By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.
14	Das alles ist der Saum von seinen Taten, ein schwaches Echo, das wir davon hören. Wie groß und mächtig muss Gott wirklich sein!«	Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?
