1	Die Bewohner Jerusalems nach der Verbannung So wurde ganz Israel nach seinen Sippen erfasst und im amtlichen Verzeichnis der Könige von Israel aufgeschrieben. Weil die Bewohner des Königreichs Juda sich von Gott abgewandt hatten, wurden sie nach Babylonien in die Verbannung geführt.	So all Israel were reckoned by genealogies; and, behold, they were written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah, who were carried away to Babylon for their transgression.
2	Die Ersten, die von dort zurückkehrten und sich wieder auf ihrem Erbbesitz in Juda ansiedelten, waren Leute aus dem Volk sowie Priester, Leviten und Tempeldiener.	Now the first inhabitants that dwelt in their possessions in their cities were, the Israelites, the priests, Levites, and the Nethinims.
3	Damals ließen sich in Jerusalem folgende Leute aus den Stämmen Juda, Benjamin, Efraïm und Manasse nieder:	And in Jerusalem dwelt of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim, and Manasseh;
4	Aus dem Stamm Juda: Utai, der Sohn Ammihuds; er stammt über Omri, Imri und Bani von Judas Sohn Perez ab;	Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the children of Pharez the son of Judah.
5	von den Nachkommen von Judas Sohn Schela: Asaja, der Erstgeborene, und seine Söhne;	And of the Shilonites; Asaiah the firstborn, and his sons.
6	von den Nachkommen von Judas Sohn Serach: Jëuël. Zusammen mit ihren Brüdern waren es 690.	And of the sons of Zerah; Jeuel, and their brethren, six hundred and ninety.
7	Aus dem Stamm Benjamin: Sallu, der Sohn Meschullams; seine weiteren Vorfahren waren Hodawja und Senua;	And of the sons of Benjamin; Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hasenuah,
8	Jibneja, der Sohn Jerohams; Ela, der Sohn von Usi und Enkel von Michri; Meschullam, der Sohn von Schefatja; seine weiteren Vorfahren waren Reguël und Jibnija.	And Ibneiah the son of Jeroham, and Elah the son of Uzzi, the son of Michri, and Meshullam the son of Shephathiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;
9	Zusammen mit ihren Brüdern und nach ihren Sippen waren es 956 Sippenoberhäupter.	And their brethren, according to their generations, nine hundred and fifty and six. All these men were chief of the fathers in the house of their fathers.
10	Von den Priestern: Jedaja, Jojarib, Jachin;	And of the priests; Jedaiah, and Jehoiarib, and Jachin,
11	Asarja, der Sohn von Hilkija, das Oberhaupt des Tempels; seine weiteren Vorfahren waren Meschullam, Zadok, Merajot und Ahitub;	And Azariah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the ruler of the house of God;
12	Adaja, der Sohn Jerohams; seine weiteren Vorfahren waren Paschhur und Malkija; Masai, der Sohn Adiëls; seine weiteren Vorfahren waren Jachsera, Meschullam, Meschillemot und Immer.	And Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pashur, the son of Malchijah, and Maasiai the son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer;
13	Zusammen mit ihren Brüdern waren es 1760 Sippenoberhäupter, alle befähigt zum Dienst im Haus Gottes.	And their brethren, heads of the house of their fathers, a thousand and seven hundred and threescore; very able men for the work of the service of the house of God.
14	Von den Leviten: Schemaja von der Gruppe Merari, seine Vorfahren waren Haschub, Asrikam und Haschabja;	And of the Levites; Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;
15	Bakbakar, Heresch, Galal und Mattanja, der Sohn von Micha und Enkel von Sichri, einem Nachkommen Asafs;	And Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, and Mattaniah the son of Micah, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph;
16	Abda, der Sohn von Schammua und Enkel von Galal, ein Nachkomme Jedutuns; Berechja, der Sohn von Asa und Enkel von Elkana, der früher in den Siedlungen von Netofa gewohnt hatte.	And Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun, and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, that dwelt in the villages of the Netophathites.
17	Dazu die Torwächter: Schallum, Akkub, Talmon und Ahiman. Ihr Oberhaupt war Schallum.	And the porters were, Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren: Shallum was the chief;
18	Seine Sippe bewacht bis zum heutigen Tag das Königstor auf der Ostseite. Ihre Vorfahren waren beim Zug durch die Wüste die Torwächter im Lager der Leviten gewesen.	Who hitherto waited in the king’s gate eastward: they were porters in the companies of the children of Levi.
19	Auch den Dienst als Wächter am Eingang des Heiligen Zeltes versahen Schallum und die Männer seiner Sippe, sämtlich Nachkommen Korachs; Schallum stammte über Kore und Abiasaf von Korach ab. Ihre Vorfahren hatten in der Wüste den Eingang zum Lager des Herrn bewacht;	And Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren, of the house of his father, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the gates of the tabernacle: and their fathers, being over the host of the Lord, were keepers of the entry.
20	Pinhas, der Sohn Eleasars, war ihr Oberhaupt gewesen – der Herr gedenke seiner!	And Phinehas the son of Eleazar was the ruler over them in time past, and the Lord was with him.
21	Secharja, der Sohn von Meschelemja, war Torhüter am Eingang des Heiligen Zeltes.	And Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was porter of the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
22	Insgesamt waren es 212, die zu Torwächtern ausgewählt worden waren. Die Torwächter waren in ihren Dörfern in das Sippenverzeichnis eingetragen worden; David und der Prophet Samuel hatten sie in ihr Amt eingesetzt.	All these which were chosen to be porters in the gates were two hundred and twelve. These were reckoned by their genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer did ordain in their set office.
23	Sie und ihre Söhne standen Wache an den Eingangstoren zum Heiligen Zelt und später zum Tempel des Herrn.	So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of the house of the Lord, namely, the house of the tabernacle, by wards.
24	Die Wachen waren nach den vier Himmelsrichtungen aufgestellt, nach Osten, Westen, Norden und Süden.	In four quarters were the porters, toward the east, west, north, and south.
25	Die Männer wohnten in ihren Dörfern und mussten jeweils für sieben Tage zum Dienst erscheinen, wenn sie an der Reihe waren.	And their brethren, which were in their villages, were to come after seven days from time to time with them.
26	Nur die vier obersten Wächter, auch sie Leviten, waren ständig im Dienst. Zu ihren Aufgaben gehörte die Aufsicht über die Vorratsräume und die Schatzkammern des Tempels.	For these Levites, the four chief porters, were in their set office, and were over the chambers and treasuries of the house of God.
27	Sie blieben auch über Nacht im Tempelbereich, denn sie mussten Wache halten und jeden Morgen die Tore aufschließen.	And they lodged round about the house of God, because the charge was upon them, and the opening thereof every morning pertained to them.
28	Andere Leviten waren verantwortlich für die Geräte, die beim Gottesdienst gebraucht wurden. Sie trugen sie abgezählt hinein und nach Gebrauch wieder hinaus.	And certain of them had the charge of the ministering vessels, that they should bring them in and out by tale.
29	Wieder andere waren zuständig für die sonstigen Geräte und heiligen Gefäße und verantwortlich für das Mehl, den Wein, das Olivenöl, den Weihrauch und die Duftstoffe für das Salböl.	Some of them also were appointed to oversee the vessels, and all the instruments of the sanctuary, and the fine flour, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and the spices.
30	Die Herstellung des Salböls aus diesen Stoffen war jedoch Aufgabe der Priester.	And some of the sons of the priests made the ointment of the spices.
31	Der Levit Mattitja, der erstgeborene Sohn des Korachnachkommen Schallum, hatte ständig dafür zu sorgen, dass das Backwerk für die Speiseopfer hergestellt wurde.	And Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the set office over the things that were made in the pans.
32	Für die geweihten Brote, die jeden Sabbat aufgelegt werden müssen, waren einige ihrer Stammesbrüder von den Nachkommen Kehats zuständig.	And other of their brethren, of the sons of the Kohathites, were over the shewbread, to prepare it every sabbath.
33	Die levitischen Sippen, die für den Gesang am Tempel verantwortlich waren, wohnten in den Kammern am Tempel. Sie waren von aller anderen Arbeit befreit, weil sie Tag und Nacht zu ihrem Dienst bereit sein mussten.	And these are the singers, chief of the fathers of the Levites, who remaining in the chambers were free: for they were employed in that work day and night.
34	Alle die genannten Sippenoberhäupter, die nach ihrer Abstammung zu den Leviten gehörten, wohnten damals in Jerusalem. ()	These chief fathers of the Levites were chief throughout their generations; these dwelt at Jerusalem.
35	Vorfahren und Nachkommen König Sauls In Gibeon wohnte Jëiël, der Stammvater dieser Stadt. Seine Frau hieß Maacha,	And in Gibeon dwelt the father of Gibeon, Jehiel, whose wife’s name was Maachah:
36	sein erstgeborener Sohn war Abdon, die weiteren Söhne waren: Zur, Kisch, Baal, Ner, Nadab,	And his firstborn son Abdon, then Zur, and Kish, and Baal, and Ner, and Nadab,
37	Gedor, Achjo, Secher und Miklot;	And Gedor, and Ahio, and Zechariah, and Mikloth.
38	Miklot hatte einen Sohn namens Schima. Auch sie ließen sich wie ihre Stammesbrüder in Jerusalem nieder.	And Mikloth begat Shimeam. And they also dwelt with their brethren at Jerusalem, over against their brethren.
39	Der Sohn Ners war Abner, der Sohn von Kisch aber war Saul. Die Söhne Sauls waren: Jonatan, Malkischua, Abinadab und Eschbaal.	And Ner begat Kish; and Kish begat Saul; and Saul begat Jonathan, and Malchi–shua, and Abinadab, and Esh–baal.
40	Jonatans Sohn war Merib-Baal und dessen Sohn Micha.	And the son of Jonathan was Merib–baal: and Merib–baal begat Micah.
41	Die Söhne von Micha waren: Piton, Melech, Tachrea und Ahas.	And the sons of Micah were, Pithon, and Melech, and Tahrea, and Ahaz.
42	Der Sohn von Ahas hieß Joadda, und dessen Söhne waren: Alemet, Asmawet und Simri. Der Sohn von Simri war Moza	And Ahaz begat Jarah; and Jarah begat Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri begat Moza;
43	und als weitere Nachkommen in dieser Linie folgten: Bina, Refaja, Elasa und Azel.	And Moza begat Binea; and Rephaiah his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son.
44	Azel hatte sechs Söhne: Asrikam, Bochru, Jischmaël, Schearja, Obadja und Hanan.	And Azel had six sons, whose names are these, Azrikam, Bocheru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and Hanan: these were the sons of Azel.
