1	Gebet eines Bedrängten Ein Lied Davids, zu singen mit Flötenbegleitung.	Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation.
2	Herr, höre doch, was ich sage; achte auf mein Seufzen und Stöhnen!	Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.
3	Verschließ die Ohren nicht, wenn ich um Hilfe schreie, du mein König und mein Gott! An dich wende ich mich mit meiner Bitte.	My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
4	Früh am Morgen hörst du mein Rufen, in der Frühe trage ich dir meine Sache vor und warte auf deine Entscheidung.	For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
5	Dir, Herr, gefällt kein Unrecht, kein Unheilstifter darf zu dir kommen.	The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
6	Überhebliche Prahler willst du nicht sehen und Verbrecher trifft dein Hass.	Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the Lord will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.
7	Die Lügner vernichtest du, du verabscheust die Mörder und Betrüger.	But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
8	Doch mir erweist du große Güte: Ich darf zu deinem Tempel kommen, vor deinem Heiligtum mich niederwerfen und voller Ehrfurcht zu dir beten.	Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.
9	Herr, lass meine Feinde sehen, wie du mir hilfst! Ebne vor mir den Weg, den ich gehen soll!	For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
10	Auf das, was sie sagen, kann sich niemand verlassen, ihr Kopf steckt voll von schändlichen Plänen. Glattzüngige Schmeichler sind sie; doch ihre schönen Worte bringen Tod und Verderben.	Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.
11	Zahl es ihnen heim, Gott, verstricke sie in ihre eigenen Ränke! Vertreibe sie aus deiner Nähe; denn ihre Schandtaten sind zahllos und ihr Trotz gegen dich ist maßlos.	But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
12	Doch freuen sollen sich alle, die sich auf dich verlassen. Ihr Jubel soll kein Ende haben, denn du bist ihr Beschützer. Sie sollen vor Freude singen, sie alle, die dich lieben	For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
13	und dir die Treue halten. Denn reich beschenkst du sie mit deinem Segen, schützend umgibt sie deine Güte.	—
