1	Bitte um Erbarmen Ein Lied, zu singen auf dem Weg nach Jerusalem. Ich richte meinen Blick hinauf zu dir, zum Himmel hinauf, wo du thronst.	Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.
2	Aufmerksam blicken die Knechte auf die Hand ihres Hausherrn; aufmerksam schauen die Augen der Magd auf die Hand ihrer Herrin. So voll Erwartung blicken auch wir zu dir, Herr, unser Gott, bis du uns dein Erbarmen zeigst!	Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us.
3	Erbarm dich, Herr, hab Erbarmen mit uns! Wir haben genug Verachtung erlebt,	Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
4	viel zu viel hinunterschlucken müssen vom Spott unserer satten, sorglosen Feinde, vom Hohn vermessener Unterdrücker!	Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.
