| 1 | Ich liebe Jehova; denn er hörte meine Stimme, mein Flehen; | I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. |
| 2 | Denn er hat zu mir geneigt sein Ohr; und ich will ihn anrufen in allen meinen Tagen. | Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. |
| 3 | Es umfingen mich die Bande des Todes, und die Bedrängnisse des Scheols erreichten mich; ich fand Drangsal und Kummer. | The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. |
| 4 | Und ich rief an den Namen Jehovas: Bitte, Jehova, errette meine Seele! | Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul. |
| 5 | Gnädig ist Jehova und gerecht, und unser Gott ist barmherzig. | Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful. |

| 13 | Den Becher der Rettungen will ich nehmen und anrufen den Namen Jehovas. | I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord. |
| 14 | Ich will Jehova meine Gelübde bezahlen, ja, in der Gegenwart seines ganzen Volkes. | I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people. |
