| 1 | A psalm of a canticle on the sabbath day. | He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. |
| 2 | It is good to give praise to the Lord: and to sing to thy name, O most High. | I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. |
| 3 | To shew forth thy mercy in the morning, and thy truth in the night: | Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. |
| 4 | Upon an instrument of ten strings, upon the psaltery: with a canticle upon the harp. | He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. |
| 5 | For thou hast given me, O Lord, a delight in thy doings: and in the works of thy hands I shall rejoice. | Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; |
| 6 | O Lord, how great are thy works! thy thoughts are exceeding deep. | Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. |
| 7 | The senseless man shall not know: nor will the fool understand these things. | A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. |
| 8 | When the wicked shall spring up as grass: and all the workers of iniquity shall appear: That they may perish for ever and ever: | Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. |
| 9 | But thou, O Lord, art most high for evermore. | Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; |
| 10 | For behold thy enemies, O Lord, for behold thy enemies shall perish: and all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered. | There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. |
| 11 | But my horn shall be exalted like that of the unicorn: and my old age in plentiful mercy. | For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. |
| 12 | My eye also hath looked down upon my enemies: and my ear shall hear of the downfall of the malignant that rise up against me. | They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. |
| 13 | The just shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow up like the cedar of Libanus. | Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. |
| 14 | They that are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of the house of our God. | Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. |
| 15 | They shall still increase in a fruitful old age: and shall be well treated, | He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. |
| 16 | That they may shew, That the Lord our God is righteous, and there is no iniquity in him. | With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. |
