| 1 | A gradual canticle. O Lord, remember David, and all his meekness. | Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me. |
| 2 | How he swore to the Lord, he vowed a vow to the God of Jacob: | Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child. |
| 3 | If I shall enter into the tabernacle of my house: if I shall go up into the bed wherein I lie: | Let Israel hope in the Lord from henceforth and for ever. |
| 4 | If I shall give sleep to my eyes, or slumber to my eyelids, | — |
| 5 | Or rest to my temples: until I find out a place for the Lord, a tabernacle for the God of Jacob. | — |
