절Douay RheimsKing James Version
Give glory to the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
Who shall declare the powers of the Lord? who shall set forth all his praises? Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
Blessed are they that keep judgment, and do justice at all times. Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.
Remember us, O Lord, in the favour of thy people: visit us with thy salvation. Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
That we may see the good of thy chosen, that we may rejoice in the joy of thy nation: that thou mayst be praised with thy inheritance. Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
We have sinned with our fathers: we have acted unjustly, we have wrought iniquity. O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.
Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt: they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies: And they provoked to wrath going up to the sea, even the Red Sea. He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
And he saved them for his own name's sake: that he might make his power known. He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
And he rebuked the Red Sea and it was dried up: and he led them through the depths, as in a wilderness. Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;
And he saved them from the hand of them that hated them: and he redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:
And the water covered them that afflicted them: there was not one of them left. Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:
And they believed his words: and they sang his praises. When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.
They had quickly done, they forgot his works: and they waited not for his counsel. When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;
And they coveted their desire in the desert: and they tempted God in the place without water. He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;
And he gave them their request: and sent fulness into their souls. Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
And they provoked Moses in the camp, Aaron the holy one of the Lord. Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.
The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan: and covered the congregation of Abiron. He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:
And a fire was kindled in their congregation: the flame burned the wicked. Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:
They made also a calf in Horeb: and they adored the graven thing. Until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him.
And they changed their glory into the likeness of a calf that eateth grass. The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.
They forgot God, who saved them, who had done great things in Egypt, He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:
Wondrous works in the land of Cham: terrible things in the Red Sea. To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.
And he said that he would destroy them: had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach: To turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them. Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
And they set at nought the desirable land. They believed not his word, And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.
And they murmured in their tents: they hearkened not to the voice of the Lord. He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.
And he lifted up his hand over them: to overthrow them in the desert; He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.
And to cast down their seed among the nations, and to scatter them in the countries. They shewed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.
They also were initiated to Beelphegor: and ate the sacrifices of the dead. He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.
And they provoked him with their inventions: and destruction was multiplied among them. He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.
Then Phinees stood up, and pacified him: and the slaughter ceased. Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.
And it was reputed to him unto justice, to generation and generation for evermore. He spake, and there came divers sorts of flies, and lice in all their coasts.
They provoked him also at the waters of contradiction: and Moses was afflicted for their sakes: He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.
Because they exasperated his spirit. And he distinguished with his lips. He smote their vines also and their fig trees; and brake the trees of their coasts.
They did not destroy the nations of which the Lord spoke unto them. He spake, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number,
And they were mingled among the heathens, and learned their works: And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.
And served their idols, and it became a stumblingblock to them. He smote also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.
And they sacrificed their sons, and their daughters to devils. He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.
And they shed innocent blood: the blood of their sons and of their daughters which they sacrificed to the idols of Chanaan. And the land was polluted with blood, Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.
And was defiled with their works: and they went aside after their own inventions. He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.
And the Lord was exceedingly angry with his people: and he abhorred his inheritance. The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
And he delivered them into the hands of the nations: and they that hated them had dominion over them. He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.
And their enemies afflicted them: and they were humbled under their hands: For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.
Many times did he deliver them. But they provoked him with their counsel: and they were brought low by their iniquities. And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:
And he saw when they were in tribulation: and he heard their prayer. And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;
And he was mindful of his covenant: and repented according to the multitude of his mercies. That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the Lord.
And he gave them unto mercies, in the sight of all those that had made them captives. —
Save us, O Lord, our God: and gather us from among the nations: That we may give thanks to thy holy name, and may glory in thy praise. —
Blessed be the Lord the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say: So be it, so be it. —
