| 2 | Jordens Konger rejser sig, Fyrster samles til Raad mod HERREN og mod hans Salvede: | The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, |
| 3 | »Lad os sprænge deres Baand og kaste Rebene af os!« | Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. |
| 4 | Han, som troner i Himlen, ler, Herren, han spotter dem. | He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. |
| 5 | Saa taler han til dem i Vrede, forfærder dem i sin Harme: | Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. |
| 6 | »Jeg har dog indsat min Konge paa Zion, mit hellige Bjerg!« | Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. |
| 7 | Jeg kundgør HERRENS Tilsagn. Han sagde til mig: »Du er min Søn, jeg har født dig i Dag! | I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. |
| 8 | Bed mig, og jeg giver dig Hedningefolk til Arv og den vide Jord i Eje; | Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. |
| 9 | med Jernspir skal du knuse dem og sønderslaa dem som en Pottemagers Kar!« | Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. |
| 10 | Og nu, I Konger, vær kloge, lad eder raade, I Jordens Dommere, | Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. |
| 11 | tjener HERREN i Frygt, fryd jer med Bæven! | Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. |
| 12 | Kysser Sønnen, at ikke han vredes og I forgaar! Snart blusser hans Vrede op. Salig hver den, der lider paa ham! | Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him. |
