| 1 | 當 烏西雅、約坦、亞哈斯、希西家 作猶大 王，約阿施 的兒子 耶羅波安 作以色列 王 的時候，耶和華 的話 臨 到 備利 的兒子 何西阿。 | The word of the Lord that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel. |
| 2 | 耶和華 初次 與 何西阿 說話， 對 他 說：「你去 娶 淫婦 為妻，也收那從淫亂 所生的兒女；因為 這地 大 行淫亂，離棄 耶和華。」 | The beginning of the word of the Lord by Hosea. And the Lord said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the Lord. |
| 3 | 於是，何西阿去 娶了 滴拉音 的女兒 歌篾。這婦人懷孕，給他 生了 一個兒子。 | So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a son. |
| 4 | 耶和華 對 何西阿說：「給他起名 叫 耶斯列；因為 再過 片時，我必討 耶戶 家 在耶斯列 殺人流血的罪，也必使以色列 家 的國 滅絕。 | And the Lord said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel. |

| 8 | 歌篾給羅‧路哈瑪 斷奶以後，又懷孕 生了 一個兒子。 | Now when she had weaned Lo–ruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son. |

| 10 | 然而，以色列 的人 數 必 如 海 沙， 不可 量，不可 數。從前 在甚麼 地方 對他們 說「你們 不是 我的子民」，將來在那裡必對他們 說「你們是永生 神 的兒子」。 | Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God. |
