1 以掃 就是 以東，他的後代 記在下面。 Now these are the generations of Esau, who is Edom.
2 以掃 娶 迦南 的女子 為 妻，就是 赫人 以倫 的女兒 亞大 和 希未人 祭便 的孫女、亞拿 的女兒 阿何利巴瑪， Esau took his wives of the daughters of Canaan; Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite;
3 又 娶了以實瑪利 的女兒、尼拜約 的妹子 巴實抹。 And Bashemath Ishmael’s daughter, sister of Nebajoth.
4 亞大 給以掃 生了 以利法；巴實抹 生了 流珥； And Adah bare to Esau Eliphaz; and Bashemath bare Reuel;
5 阿何利巴瑪 生了 耶烏施、 雅蘭、 可拉。這都是 以掃 的兒子， 是在迦南 地 生 的。 And Aholibamah bare Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah: these are the sons of Esau, which were born unto him in the land of Canaan.
6 以掃 帶著 他的妻子、 兒 女，與 家中 一切的 人口，並 他的牛羊、 牲畜，和一切 貨財，就是他在迦南 地 所 得的，往 別處 去，離了 他兄弟 雅各。 And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his substance, which he had got in the land of Canaan; and went into the country from the face of his brother Jacob.
7 因為 二人的財物 群畜 甚多，寄居 的地方 容 不下 他們，所以不能同 居。 For their riches were more than that they might dwell together; and the land wherein they were strangers could not bear them because of their cattle.
8 於是以掃 住 在西珥 山裡；以掃 就是 以東。 Thus dwelt Esau in mount Seir: Esau is Edom.
9 以掃 是西珥 山裡 以東人 的始祖，他的後代 記在下面。 And these are the generations of Esau the father of the Edomites in mount Seir:
10 以掃 眾子 的名字 如下。以掃 的妻子 亞大 生 以利法；以掃 的妻子 巴實抹 生 流珥。 These are the names of Esau’s sons; Eliphaz the son of Adah the wife of Esau, Reuel the son of Bashemath the wife of Esau.
11 以利法 的兒子 是 提幔、阿抹、洗玻、迦坦、基納斯。 And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.
12 亭納 是 以掃 兒子 以利法的 妾；她給以利法 生了 亞瑪力。這是 以掃 的妻子 亞大 的子孫。 And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esau’s son; and she bare to Eliphaz Amalek: these were the sons of Adah Esau’s wife.
13 流珥 的兒子 是 拿哈、謝拉、沙瑪、米撒。這 是 以掃 妻子 巴實抹 的子孫。 And these are the sons of Reuel; Nahath, and Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah: these were the sons of Bashemath Esau’s wife.
14 以掃 的妻子 阿何利巴瑪 是祭便 的孫女，亞拿 的女兒； 她給以掃 生了 耶烏施、 雅蘭、 可拉。 And these were the sons of Aholibamah, the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon, Esau’s wife: and she bare to Esau Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.
15 以掃 子孫 中作族長 的記在下面。以掃 的長子 以利法 的子孫中，有提幔 族長、阿抹 族長、洗玻 族長、基納斯 族長、 These were dukes of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz the firstborn son of Esau; duke Teman, duke Omar, duke Zepho, duke Kenaz,
16 可拉 族長、迦坦 族長、亞瑪力 族長。這是 在以東 地 從以利法 所出的族長，都是 亞大 的子孫。 Duke Korah, duke Gatam, and duke Amalek: these are the dukes that came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; these were the sons of Adah.
17 以掃 的兒子 流珥 的子孫中，有 拿哈 族長、謝拉 族長、沙瑪 族長、米撒 族長。這是 在以東 地 從流珥 所出的族長，都是 以掃 妻子 巴實抹 的子孫。 And these are the sons of Reuel Esau’s son; duke Nahath, duke Zerah, duke Shammah, duke Mizzah: these are the dukes that came of Reuel in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Bashemath Esau’s wife.
18 以掃 的妻子 阿何利巴瑪 的子孫中，有 耶烏施 族長、雅蘭 族長、可拉 族長。這是 從以掃 妻子，亞拿 的女兒，阿何利巴瑪 子孫中所出的族長。 And these are the sons of Aholibamah Esau’s wife; duke Jeush, duke Jaalam, duke Korah: these were the dukes that came of Aholibamah the daughter of Anah, Esau’s wife.
19 以上的 族長 都是 以掃 的子孫；以掃就是 以東。 These are the sons of Esau, who is Edom, and these are their dukes.
20 那地 原有的居民─何利人 西珥 的子孫 記在下面：就是羅坍、朔巴、祭便、亞拿、 These are the sons of Seir the Horite, who inhabited the land; Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah,
21 底順、以察、底珊。這是 從以東 地 的何利人 西珥 子孫 中所出的族長。 And Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan: these are the dukes of the Horites, the children of Seir in the land of Edom.
22 羅坍 的兒子 是 何利、希幔；羅坍 的妹子 是亭納。 And the children of Lotan were Hori and Hemam; and Lotan’s sister was Timna.
23 朔巴 的兒子 是 亞勒文、瑪拿轄、以巴錄、示玻、阿南。 And the children of Shobal were these; Alvan, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
24 祭便 的兒子 是 亞雅、亞拿（當時在曠野 放 他父親 祭便的 驢，遇著 溫泉 的，就是這 亞拿）。 And these are the children of Zibeon; both Ajah, and Anah: this was that Anah that found the mules in the wilderness, as he fed the asses of Zibeon his father.
25 亞拿 的兒子 是 底順；亞拿 的女兒 是阿何利巴瑪。 And the children of Anah were these; Dishon, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah.
26 底順 的兒子 是 欣但、伊是班、益蘭、基蘭。 And these are the children of Dishon; Hemdan, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.
27 以察 的兒子 是 辟罕、撒番、亞干。 The children of Ezer are these; Bilhan, and Zaavan, and Akan.
28 底珊 的兒子 是 烏斯、亞蘭。 The children of Dishan are these; Uz, and Aran.
29 從何利人 所出的族長 記在下面：就是羅坍 族長、朔巴 族長、祭便 族長、亞拿 族長、 These are the dukes that came of the Horites; duke Lotan, duke Shobal, duke Zibeon, duke Anah,
30 底順 族長、以察 族長、底珊 族長。這是 從何利人 所出的族長，都在西珥 地，按著宗族作族長。 Duke Dishon, duke Ezer, duke Dishan: these are the dukes that came of Hori, among their dukes in the land of Seir.
31 以色列 人 未有君王 治理 以先，在以東 地 作 王 的 記在下面。 And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel.
32 比珥 的兒子 比拉 在以東 作王，他的京城 名 叫亭哈巴。 And Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom: and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
33 比拉 死了，波斯拉人 謝拉 的兒子 約巴 接續他 作王。 And Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.
34 約巴 死了，提幔 地的 人戶珊 接續他 作王。 And Jobab died, and Husham of the land of Temani reigned in his stead.
35 戶珊 死了，比達 的兒子 哈達 接續他 作王；這哈達就是在摩押 地 殺敗 米甸人的，他的京城 名 叫亞未得。 And Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Avith.
36 哈達 死了，瑪士利加人 桑拉 接續他 作王。 And Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.
37 桑拉 死了，大河 邊的利河伯人 掃羅 接續他 作王。 And Samlah died, and Saul of Rehoboth by the river reigned in his stead.
38 掃羅 死了，亞革波 的兒子巴勒‧哈南 接續他 作王。 And Saul died, and Baal–hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.
39 亞革波 的兒子巴勒‧哈南 死了，哈達 接續他 作王，他的京城 名 叫巴烏；他的妻子 名 叫米希她別，是米‧薩合 的孫女，瑪特列 的女兒。 And Baal–hanan the son of Achbor died, and Hadar reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Pau; and his wife’s name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.
40 從以掃 所出的族長，按著他們的宗族、住處、名字 記在下面：就是亭納 族長、亞勒瓦 族長、耶帖 族長、 And these are the names of the dukes that came of Esau, according to their families, after their places, by their names; duke Timnah, duke Alvah, duke Jetheth,
41 阿何利巴瑪 族長、以拉 族長、比嫩 族長、 Duke Aholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon,
42 基納斯 族長、提幔 族長、米比薩 族長、 Duke Kenaz, duke Teman, duke Mibzar,
43 瑪基疊 族長、以蘭 族長。這是 以東 人 在所得為業 的地上，按著他們的住處。〈所有的族長都是 以東人 的始祖 以掃的後代。〉 Duke Magdiel, duke Iram: these be the dukes of Edom, according to their habitations in the land of their possession: he is Esau the father of the Edomites.
