1 雅各聽見 拉班 的兒子們 有 話 說：「雅各 把 我們父親 所有的 都 奪了去，並藉著 我們父親的，得了 這 一切的 榮耀（或譯：財）。」 And he heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father’s; and of that which was our father’s hath he gotten all this glory.
2 雅各 見 拉班 的氣色 向他 不如 從前了。 And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before.
3 耶和華 對 雅各 說：「你要回你祖、你父 之地，到你親族那裡去，我必 與你同在。」 And the Lord said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.
4 雅各 就打發人，叫 拉結 和利亞 到 田野 羊群那裡來， And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his flock,
5 對她們 說：「我 看 你們父親 的氣色 向我 不 如從前了；但我父親的 神 向來與我 同在。 And said unto them, I see your father’s countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with me.
6 你們 也知道， 我盡了 我的力量 服事 你們的父親。 And ye know that with all my power I have served your father.
7 你們的父親 欺哄 我，十 次 改了 我的工價；然而 神 不 容他 害 我。 And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.
8 他若 說：『有點的 歸你作 工價』，羊群 所生 的都 有點；他若 說：『有紋的 歸你作 工價』，羊群 所生 的都 有紋。 If he said thus, The speckled shall be thy wages; then all the cattle bare speckled: and if he said thus, The ringstraked shall be thy hire; then bare all the cattle ringstraked.
9 這樣， 神 把 你們父親 的牲畜 奪來 賜 給我了。 Thus God hath taken away the cattle of your father, and given them to me.
10 羊 配合 的時候，我夢中 舉 目 一看，見 跳 母羊 的公羊 都是有紋的、有點的、有花斑的。 And it came to pass at the time that the cattle conceived, that I lifted up mine eyes, and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams which leaped upon the cattle were ringstraked, speckled, and grisled.
11 神 的使者 在那夢中 呼叫我 說：『雅各。』我說：『我在這裡。』 And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I.
12 他說：『 你舉 目 觀看，跳 母羊 的公羊 都 是有紋的、有點的、有花斑的； 凡 拉班 向你 所 做的，我都 看見了。 And he said, Lift up now thine eyes, and see, all the rams which leap upon the cattle are ringstraked, speckled, and grisled: for I have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee.
13 我是 伯特利的 神； 你在那裡 用油澆過 柱子， 向我 許過 願。現今 你起來，離開 這 地，回 你本 地去吧！』」 I am the God of Beth–el, where thou anointedst the pillar, and where thou vowedst a vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred.
14 拉結 和利亞 回答 雅各 說：「在我們父親 的家裡 還有 我們 可得的分嗎？還有我們的產業嗎？ And Rachel and Leah answered and said unto him, Is there yet any portion or inheritance for us in our father’s house?
15 我們不是 被他 當作 外人嗎？因為 他賣了我們，吞了 我們的價值。 Are we not counted of him strangers? for he hath sold us, and hath quite devoured also our money.
16 神 從我們父親 所 奪出來 的一切 財物，那就是 我們 和我們孩子們的。現今 凡 神 所 吩咐 你的，你只管去行吧！」 For all the riches which God hath taken from our father, that is ours, and our children’s: now then, whatsoever God hath said unto thee, do.
17 雅各 起來，使 他的兒子 和 妻子 都騎 上 駱駝， Then Jacob rose up, and set his sons and his wives upon camels;
18 又帶著他在巴旦‧亞蘭 所 得 的一切 牲畜 和 財物，往 迦南 地、他父親 以撒 那裡去了。 And he carried away all his cattle, and all his goods which he had gotten, the cattle of his getting, which he had gotten in Padan–aram, for to go to Isaac his father in the land of Canaan.
19 當時拉班 剪 羊 毛去了，拉結 偷了 他父親 家中的 神像。 And Laban went to shear his sheep: and Rachel had stolen the images that were her father’s.
20 雅各 背著 亞蘭人 拉班 偷走了，並不 告訴 他， And Jacob stole away unawares to Laban the Syrian, in that he told him not that he fled.
21 就帶著 所有的 逃跑。他 起身 過 大河，面向 基列 山行去。 So he fled with all that he had; and he rose up, and passed over the river, and set his face toward the mount Gilead.
22 到第三 日，有人告訴 拉班， 雅各 逃跑了。 And it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob was fled.
23 拉班帶領 他的眾弟兄 去追趕，追了七 日，在基列 山 就追上了。 And he took his brethren with him, and pursued after him seven days’ journey; and they overtook him in the mount Gilead.
24 夜間， 神 到 亞蘭人 拉班那裡，在夢中 對他 說：「你 要小心，不可 與 雅各 說 好 說 歹。」 And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
25 拉班 追上 雅各。雅各 在山上 支搭 帳棚；拉班 和 他的眾弟兄 也在基列 山上 支搭帳棚。 Then Laban overtook Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the mount: and Laban with his brethren pitched in the mount of Gilead.
26 拉班 對雅各 說：「你做的 是甚麼事呢？你背著我 偷走了，又把 我的女兒們 帶了去，如同用刀劍 擄去的一般。 And Laban said to Jacob, What hast thou done, that thou hast stolen away unawares to me, and carried away my daughters, as captives taken with the sword?
27 你為甚麼 暗暗地 逃跑，偷著走，並不 告訴 我，叫我可以歡樂、唱歌、擊鼓、彈琴地 送你回去？ Wherefore didst thou flee away secretly, and steal away from me; and didst not tell me, that I might have sent thee away with mirth, and with songs, with tabret, and with harp?
28 又不 容我 與外孫 和女兒 親嘴？你所行的 真是 愚昧！ And hast not suffered me to kiss my sons and my daughters? thou hast now done foolishly in so doing.
29 我手 中原有 能力 害 你，只是你父親的 神 昨夜 對我 說：『你 要小心，不可與 雅各 說 好 說 歹。』 It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
30 現在 你雖然 想 你父 家，不得不 去，為甚麼 又偷了 我的神像呢？」 And now, though thou wouldest needs be gone, because thou sore longedst after thy father’s house, yet wherefore hast thou stolen my gods?
31 雅各 回答 拉班 說：「 恐怕 你把 你的女兒 從我 奪去，所以我逃跑。 And Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was afraid: for I said, Peradventure thou wouldest take by force thy daughters from me.
32 至於 你的神像，你在誰那裡 搜出來，就不 容誰存活。當著 我們的眾弟兄，你 認一認，在我這裡有 甚麼東西 是你的，就拿去。」原來雅各 不 知道 拉結 偷了那些神像。 With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live: before our brethren discern thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.
33 拉班 進了 雅各、利亞，並兩個 使女 的帳棚，都沒有 搜出來，就從利亞 的帳棚 出來，進了 拉結 的帳棚。 And Laban went into Jacob’s tent, and into Leah’s tent, and into the two maidservants’ tents; but he found them not. Then went he out of Leah’s tent, and entered into Rachel’s tent.
34 拉結 已經 把 神像 藏在 駱駝 的馱簍裡，便坐 在上頭。拉班 摸 遍 了那帳棚，並沒有 摸著。 Now Rachel had taken the images, and put them in the camel’s furniture, and sat upon them. And Laban searched all the tent, but found them not.
35 拉結對 她父親 說：「現在 我 身上不便，不 能 在你面前 起來，求我主 不要 生氣。」這樣，拉班搜尋 神像，竟沒有 搜出來。 And she said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before thee; for the custom of women is upon me. And he searched, but found not the images.
36 雅各 就發怒 斥責 拉班 說：「我有甚麼 過犯，有甚麼 罪惡，你竟這樣 火速地追 我？ And Jacob was wroth, and chode with Laban: and Jacob answered and said to Laban, What is my trespass? what is my sin, that thou hast so hotly pursued after me?
37 你摸 遍了我一切的 家具，你搜出 甚麼來呢？可以放 在 你 我弟兄 面前，叫他們在你我 中間 辨別辨別。 Whereas thou hast searched all my stuff, what hast thou found of all thy household stuff? set it here before my brethren and thy brethren, that they may judge betwixt us both.
38 我 在你 家這 二十 年，你的母綿羊、母山羊 沒有 掉過胎。你群 中的公羊，我沒有 吃過； This twenty years have I been with thee; thy ewes and thy she goats have not cast their young, and the rams of thy flock have I not eaten.
39 被野獸撕裂的，我沒有 帶 來給你，是我自己 賠上。無論是白日，是黑夜，被偷去的，你都向我 索要。 That which was torn of beasts I brought not unto thee; I bare the loss of it; of my hand didst thou require it, whether stolen by day, or stolen by night.
40 我白日 受盡 乾熱，黑夜 受盡寒霜，不得 合眼 睡著，我常是這樣。 Thus I was; in the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by night; and my sleep departed from mine eyes.
41 我 這 二十 年 在你家裡，為你的兩 個女兒 服事你 十四 年，為你的羊群 服事你六 年，你又十 次 改了 我的工價。 Thus have I been twenty years in thy house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years for thy cattle: and thou hast changed my wages ten times.
42 若不是 我父親 以撒 所敬畏的 神，就是亞伯拉罕的 神 與我 同在，你如今 必定 打發我 空手而去。 神 看見 我的苦情 和 我的勞碌，就在昨夜 責備你。」 Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.
43 拉班 回答 雅各 說：「這女兒 是我的女兒，這些孩子 是我的孩子，這些羊群 也是我的羊群；凡 在你 眼前 的都是 我的。我的女兒 並 她們所 生 的孩子，我今日 能向他們 做 甚麼呢？ And Laban answered and said unto Jacob, These daughters are my daughters, and these children are my children, and these cattle are my cattle, and all that thou seest is mine: and what can I do this day unto these my daughters, or unto their children which they have born?
44 來吧！你 我 二人可以立 約，作 你 我中間 的證據。」 Now therefore come thou, let us make a covenant, I and thou; and let it be for a witness between me and thee.
45 雅各 就拿 一塊石頭 立 作柱子， And Jacob took a stone, and set it up for a pillar.
46 又對眾弟兄 說：「你們堆聚 石頭。」他們就拿 石頭 來堆 成一堆，大家便在 旁邊 吃喝。 And Jacob said unto his brethren, Gather stones; and they took stones, and made an heap: and they did eat there upon the heap.
47 拉班 稱 那石堆為伊迦爾‧撒哈杜他，雅各 卻稱 那石堆 為迦累得（都是以石堆為證的意思）。 And Laban called it Jegar–sahadutha: but Jacob called it Galeed.
48 拉班 說：「今日 這 石堆 作你 我中間 的證據。」因此 這地方名 叫 迦累得， And Laban said, This heap is a witness between me and thee this day. Therefore was the name of it called Galeed;
49 又叫米斯巴，意思 說：「 我們彼此 離別以後，願耶和華 在你 我中間 鑒察。 And Mizpah; for he said, The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another.
50 你若 苦待 我的女兒，又 在我的女兒 以外 另娶 妻，雖沒有 人 知道，卻有 神 在你 我中間 作見證。」 If thou shalt afflict my daughters, or if thou shalt take other wives beside my daughters, no man is with us; see, God is witness betwixt me and thee.
51 拉班 又說：「你看 我在你 我中間 所 立 的這 石堆 和 柱子。 And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have cast betwixt me and thee;
52 這 石堆 作證據，這柱子 也作證據。 我 必不 過 這 石堆 去害你； 你 也不可 過 這 石堆 和 柱子 來害 我。 This heap be witness, and this pillar be witness, that I will not pass over this heap to thee, and that thou shalt not pass over this heap and this pillar unto me, for harm.
53 但願亞伯拉罕的 神 和拿鶴的 神，就是他們父親的 神，在你我中間 判斷。」雅各 就指著他父親 以撒 所敬畏的 神起誓， The God of Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge betwixt us. And Jacob sware by the fear of his father Isaac.
54 又在山上 獻 祭，請 眾弟兄 來吃 飯。他們吃了 飯，便在山上 住宿。 Then Jacob offered sacrifice upon the mount, and called his brethren to eat bread: and they did eat bread, and tarried all night in the mount.
55 拉班 清早 起來，與他外孫 和女兒 親嘴，給他們 祝福， 回 往自己的地方 去了。 And early in the morning Laban rose up, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them: and Laban departed, and returned unto his place.
