| 2 | 雅各 向拉結 生 氣，說：「叫你 不 生育的是 神，我 豈能代替 他作主呢？」 | And Jacob’s anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God’s stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb? |

| 14 | 割 麥子 的時候，流便 往田裡 去，尋見 風茄，拿 來 給 他母親 利亞。拉結 對 利亞 說：「請 你把你兒子 的風茄 給 我些。」 | And Reuben went in the days of wheat harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them unto his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, Give me, I pray thee, of thy son’s mandrakes. |

| 20 | 利亞 說：「 神 賜 我 厚 賞； 我丈夫 必與我同住，因 我給他 生了 六個 兒子」，於是給 他起 名 西布倫（就是同住的意思）。 | And Leah said, God hath endued me with a good dowry; now will my husband dwell with me, because I have born him six sons: and she called his name Zebulun. |
| 21 | 後來 又生 了一個女兒，給 她起名 叫 底拿。 | And afterwards she bare a daughter, and called her name Dinah. |
| 22 | 神 顧念 拉結， 應允了 她，使 她 能生育。 | And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb. |
| 23 | 拉結懷孕 生 子，說：「 神 除去 了 我的羞恥」， | And she conceived, and bare a son; and said, God hath taken away my reproach: |
| 24 | 就給 他起名 叫 約瑟（就是增添的意思），意思說：「願耶和華 再增添 我 一個 兒子。」 | And she called his name Joseph; and said, The Lord shall add to me another son. |
| 25 | 拉結 生 約瑟之後，雅各 對 拉班 說：「請打發我走，叫我回 到 我本鄉 本土去。 | And it came to pass, when Rachel had born Joseph, that Jacob said unto Laban, Send me away, that I may go unto mine own place, and to my country. |
| 26 | 請你把我服事 你 所得 的 妻子 和 兒女 給我，讓我走； 我怎樣 服事你，你 都知道。」 | Give me my wives and my children, for whom I have served thee, and let me go: for thou knowest my service which I have done thee. |
| 27 | 拉班 對他 說：「我若 在你眼前 蒙 恩，請你仍與我同住，因為我已算定，耶和華 賜福與我 是為你的緣故」； | And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the Lord hath blessed me for thy sake. |
| 28 | 又說：「請你定 你的工價，我就給你。」 | And he said, Appoint me thy wages, and I will give it. |
| 29 | 雅各對他 說：「 我怎樣 服事你， 你的牲畜 在 我手裡 怎樣，是你 知道的。 | And he said unto him, Thou knowest how I have served thee, and how thy cattle was with me. |
| 30 | 我未來之先，你所 有 的很少，現今卻發大 眾多，耶和華 隨我的腳步 賜福 與你。如今，我 甚麼時候 才 為自己興家 立業呢？」 | For it was little which thou hadst before I came, and it is now increased unto a multitude; and the Lord hath blessed thee since my coming: and now when shall I provide for mine own house also? |
| 31 | 拉班說：「我當給 你 甚麼呢？」雅各 說：「甚麼 你也不必 給 我，只有一件 事，你若 應承，我便仍舊 牧 放 你的羊群。 | And he said, What shall I give thee? And Jacob said, Thou shalt not give me any thing: if thou wilt do this thing for me, I will again feed and keep thy flock: |
| 32 | 今天 我要走 遍 你的羊群，把綿羊中 凡 有點的、有斑的，和黑色的，並山羊中 凡 有斑的、有點的，都挑出來；將來這一等的就算 我的工價。 | I will pass through all thy flock to day, removing from thence all the speckled and spotted cattle, and all the brown cattle among the sheep, and the spotted and speckled among the goats: and of such shall be my hire. |
| 33 | 以後 你 來 查看 我的工價，凡 在我手裡 的 山羊 不是 有點 有斑的，綿羊 不是黑色的，那就算是 我偷的；這樣便可證出 我的 公義來。」 | So shall my righteousness answer for me in time to come, when it shall come for my hire before thy face: every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats, and brown among the sheep, that shall be counted stolen with me. |
| 34 | 拉班 說：「好啊！我情願 照著你的話行。」 | And Laban said, Behold, I would it might be according to thy word. |
| 35 | 當 日，拉班把 有紋的、有斑的 公山羊，有 點的、 有斑的、有 雜白紋的 母山羊，並 黑色的 綿羊，都挑出來，交 在他兒子們 的手下， | And he removed that day the he goats that were ringstraked and spotted, and all the she goats that were speckled and spotted, and every one that had some white in it, and all the brown among the sheep, and gave them into the hand of his sons. |
| 36 | 又使 自己 和 雅各 相離三 天 的路程。雅各 就牧養 拉班 其餘 的羊。 | And he set three days’ journey betwixt himself and Jacob: and Jacob fed the rest of Laban’s flocks. |
| 37 | 雅各 拿 楊樹、杏樹、楓樹 的嫩 枝，將 皮剝成 白 紋，使 枝子 露出 白的來， | And Jacob took him rods of green poplar, and of the hazel and chesnut tree; and pilled white strakes in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods. |
| 38 | 將 剝了皮 的 枝子，對著 羊群，插在 飲 羊的水溝裡 和水 槽裡，羊 來 喝 的時候，牝牡配合。 | And he set the rods which he had pilled before the flocks in the gutters in the watering troughs when the flocks came to drink, that they should conceive when they came to drink. |
| 39 | 羊 對著 枝子 配合，就生下 有紋的、有點的、有斑的來。 | And the flocks conceived before the rods, and brought forth cattle ringstraked, speckled, and spotted. |
| 40 | 雅各 把羊羔 分出來，使拉班 的羊 與 這有紋 和 黑色的 羊 相 對，把自己的 羊 另放 一處，不 叫他和 拉班 的羊 混雜。 | And Jacob did separate the lambs, and set the faces of the flocks toward the ringstraked, and all the brown in the flock of Laban; and he put his own flocks by themselves, and put them not unto Laban’s cattle. |
| 41 | 到 羊群 肥壯 配合 的時候，雅各 就把 枝子 插 在水溝裡，使羊 對著 枝子 配合。 | And it came to pass, whensoever the stronger cattle did conceive, that Jacob laid the rods before the eyes of the cattle in the gutters, that they might conceive among the rods. |
| 42 | 只是到羊 瘦弱 配合的時候就不 插枝子。這樣，瘦弱的 就歸拉班，肥壯的 就歸雅各。 | But when the cattle were feeble, he put them not in: so the feebler were Laban’s, and the stronger Jacob’s. |
| 43 | 於是雅各 極其 發大，得了 許多 的羊群、僕 婢、駱駝，和驢。 | And the man increased exceedingly, and had much cattle, and maidservants, and menservants, and camels, and asses. |
