1 這些 事 以後， 神 要試驗 亞伯拉罕，就呼叫他 說：「亞伯拉罕！」他說：「我在這裡。」 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.
2 神說：「你帶著 你的兒子，就是 你獨生的兒子，你所 愛 的 以撒，往 摩利亞 地 去，在 我所 要指示 你 的 山上， 把他獻 為燔祭。」 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
3 亞伯拉罕 清早 起來，備上 驢，帶著 兩 個僕人 和 他兒子 以撒，也劈 好了燔祭 的柴，就起身 往 神 所 指示 他 的地方 去了。 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.
4 到了第三 日，亞伯拉罕 舉 目 遠遠地 看見那 地方。 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.
5 亞伯拉罕 對 他的僕人 說：「你們 和 驢 在此 等候，我 與童子 往那裡 去 拜一拜，就回到 你們這裡來。」 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.
6 亞伯拉罕 把 燔祭 的柴 放 在 他兒子 以撒身上，自己手裡 拿著 火 與 刀；於是二人 同 行。 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.
7 以撒 對 他父親 亞伯拉罕 說：「父親哪！」亞伯拉罕說：「我兒，我在這裡。」以撒說：「請看，火 與柴都有了，但燔祭 的羊羔 在哪裡呢？」 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
8 亞伯拉罕 說：「我兒， 神 必自己 預備 作燔祭 的羊羔。」於是二人 同 行。 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.
9 他們到了 神 所 指示的 地方，亞伯拉罕 在那裡 築 壇，把 柴 擺好，捆綁 他的兒子 以撒，放 在 壇 的柴 上。 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
10 亞伯拉罕 就伸 手 拿 刀，要殺 他的兒子。 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
11 耶和華 的使者 從 天上 呼叫 他 說：「亞伯拉罕！亞伯拉罕！」他說：「我在這裡。」 And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.
12 天使說：「你不可 在 這童子 身上下 手。一點 不可 害 他！ 現在 我知道 你是 敬畏 神的了；因為你沒有 將 你的兒子，就是 你獨生的兒子，留下 不給我。」 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
13 亞伯拉罕 舉 目 觀看，不料， 有一隻公羊，兩角 扣 在稠密的小樹中。亞伯拉罕 就 取了 那隻公羊來，獻 為燔祭，代替 他的兒子。 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.
14 亞伯拉罕 給那 地方 起名 叫「耶和華以勒」（就是耶和華必預備的意思），直到今日 人還說：「在 耶和華 的山 上必有預備。」 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah–jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.
15 耶和華 的使者 第二次 從 天上 呼叫 亞伯拉罕說： And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,
16 「耶和華 說：『你既 行了 這 事，不 留下 你的兒子，就是 你獨生的兒子，我便指著自己 起誓 說： And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:
17 論 福，我必賜大福給你；論子孫，我必叫 你的子孫 多起來，如同 天上 的星， 海 邊 的沙。你子孫 必得著 仇敵 的城門， That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
18 並且地 上萬 國 都必因你的後裔 得福，因為 你聽從 了我的話。』」 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
19 於是亞伯拉罕 回 到 他僕人那裡，他們一同 起身 往 別是巴 去，亞伯拉罕 就住 在別是巴。 So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beer–sheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beer–sheba.
20 這 事 以後，有人告訴 亞伯拉罕 說：「 密迦給 你兄弟 拿鶴 生 了幾個兒子， And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she hath also born children unto thy brother Nahor;
21 長子是 烏斯，他的兄弟是 布斯和 亞蘭 的父親 基母利， Huz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram,
22 並 基薛、 哈瑣、 必達、 益拉、 彼土利（彼土利 生 利百加）。」 And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel.
23 這 八 個人都是密迦 給亞伯拉罕 的兄弟 拿鶴 生的。 And Bethuel begat Rebekah: these eight Milcah did bear to Nahor, Abraham’s brother.
24 拿鶴的妾 名 叫流瑪， 生了 提八、 迦含、 他轄，和 瑪迦。 And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she bare also Tebah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and Maachah.
