| 1 | 耶和華 按著 先前的話 眷顧 撒拉，便照他 所 說 的給撒拉 成就。 | And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken. |
| 2 | 當亞伯拉罕年老的時候，撒拉 懷了孕；到 神 所 說 的日期，就給亞伯拉罕 生 了一個兒子。 | For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. |
| 3 | 亞伯拉罕 給 撒拉 所 生的 兒子 起名 叫 以撒。 | And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac. |
| 4 | 以撒生下來第八 日，亞伯拉罕 照著 神 所 吩咐的，給 以撒 行了割禮。 | And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him. |

| 7 | 又說：「誰 能預先對亞伯拉罕 說『撒拉 要乳養 嬰孩』呢？因為 在他年老的時候，我給他生 了一個兒子。」 | And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age. |
| 8 | 孩子 漸長，就斷了奶。 以撒 斷奶 的日子，亞伯拉罕 設擺 豐盛 的筵席。 | And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned. |
| 9 | 當時，撒拉 看見 埃及人 夏甲 給亞伯拉罕 所 生 的兒子 戲笑， | And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking. |
| 10 | 就對亞伯拉罕 說：「你把這 使女 和 她兒子 趕出去！因為 這 使女 的兒子 不可 與 我的兒子 以撒 一同 承受產業。」 | Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac. |

| 12 | 神 對 亞伯拉罕 說：「你 不必 為 這童子 和 你的使女 憂愁。凡 撒拉 對你 說的話，你都該聽從；因為 從以撒生的，才要稱為 你的 後裔。 | And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called. |
| 13 | 至於 使女 的兒子，我也必 使 他的後裔 成立一國，因為 他是你所生的。」 | And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed. |
| 14 | 亞伯拉罕 清早 起來，拿 餅 和一皮袋 水，給了 夏甲，搭 在 她的肩上，又把 孩子交給她，打發她走。夏甲就走了，在別是巴 的曠野 走迷了路。 | And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beer–sheba. |
| 15 | 皮袋 的水 用盡了，夏甲就把 孩子 撇 在 小樹 底下， | And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs. |
| 16 | 自己走開 約有一 箭 之遠，相對 而坐， 說：「我不 忍見 孩子 死」，就相對 而坐，放 聲 大哭。 | And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bowshot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept. |
| 17 | 神 聽見 童子的 聲音； 神 的使者 從 天上 呼叫 夏甲 說：「夏甲，你 為何這樣呢？不要 害怕， 神 已經聽見 童子的 聲音了。 | And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is. |
| 18 | 起來！把 童子 抱 在 懷中（懷：原文是手）， 我必使 他的後裔成為大 國。」 | Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation. |
| 19 | 神 使 夏甲的眼睛 明亮，她就看見 一口水 井，便去 將 皮袋 盛滿 了水，給 童子 喝。 | And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink. |
| 20 | 神保佑 童子，他就漸長，住 在曠野，成了 弓箭手。 | And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer. |
| 21 | 他住 在巴蘭 的曠野；他母親 從埃及 地 給他 娶 了一個妻子。 | And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt. |
| 22 | 當那 時候，亞比米勒 同他軍長 非各 對 亞伯拉罕 說：「凡 你 所 行的事都有 神 的保佑。 | And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God is with thee in all that thou doest: |
| 23 | 我願你如今 在這裡指著 神 對我 起誓，不要 欺負 我 與我的兒子，並我的子孫。我怎樣 厚 待 了你，你也要照樣厚待 我 與 你所 寄居 這地的民。」 | Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son’s son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned. |
| 24 | 亞伯拉罕 說：「我 情願起誓。」 | And Abraham said, I will swear. |
| 25 | 從前，亞比米勒 的僕人 霸佔了 一口水 井，亞伯拉罕 為 這事 指責 亞比米勒。 | And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech’s servants had violently taken away. |
| 26 | 亞比米勒 說：「誰 做 這 事，我不 知道，你 也 沒有 告訴 我， 今日 我 才 聽見了。」 | And Abimelech said, I wot not who hath done this thing: neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but to day. |
| 27 | 亞伯拉罕 把 羊 和牛 給 了亞比米勒，二人 就彼此立 約。 | And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and both of them made a covenant. |
| 28 | 亞伯拉罕 把 七 隻母 羊羔 另放 在一處。 | And Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves. |
| 29 | 亞比米勒 問 亞伯拉罕 說：「你把 這 七 隻母羊羔 另放 在一處， 是甚麼意思呢？」 | And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What mean these seven ewe lambs which thou hast set by themselves? |
| 30 | 他說：「 你要從我手 裡受 這七 隻母羊羔， 作 我 挖 這 口井 的證據。」 | And he said, For these seven ewe lambs shalt thou take of my hand, that they may be a witness unto me, that I have digged this well. |
| 31 | 所以 他給那 地方 起名叫 別是巴（就是盟誓的井的意思），因為 他們 二人在那裡 起了誓。 | Wherefore he called that place Beer–sheba; because there they sware both of them. |
| 32 | 他們在別是巴 立 了約，亞比米勒 就同他軍長 非各 起身 回 非利士 地去了。 | Thus they made a covenant at Beer–sheba: then Abimelech rose up, and Phichol the chief captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines. |
| 33 | 亞伯拉罕在別是巴 栽 上一棵垂絲柳樹，又在那裡 求告 耶和華─永生 神 的名。 | And Abraham planted a grove in Beer–sheba, and called there on the name of the Lord, the everlasting God. |
| 34 | 亞伯拉罕 在非利士人 的地 寄居 了多 日。 | And Abraham sojourned in the Philistines’ land many days. |
