| 1 | 回答 柔和，使怒 消退；言語 暴戾，觸動 怒氣。 | A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. |
| 2 | 智慧人 的舌 善發 知識；愚昧人 的口 吐出 愚昧。 | The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness. |
| 3 | 耶和華 的眼目 無 處不在；惡人 善人，他都鑒察。 | The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. |
| 4 | 溫良 的舌 是生命 樹；乖謬 的嘴 使人心 碎。 | A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit. |
| 5 | 愚妄人 藐視 父親 的管教；領受 責備的，得著見識。 | A fool despiseth his father’s instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent. |
| 6 | 義人 家 中多有 財寶；惡人 得利 反受擾害。 | In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble. |
| 7 | 智慧人 的嘴 播揚 知識；愚昧人 的心 並不 如此。 | The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so. |
| 8 | 惡人 獻祭，為耶和華 所憎惡；正直人 祈禱，為他所喜悅。 | The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the upright is his delight. |
| 9 | 惡人 的道路，為耶和華 所憎惡；追求 公義的，為他所喜愛。 | The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the Lord: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness. |
| 10 | 捨棄 正路的，必受嚴 刑；恨惡 責備的，必致死亡。 | Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die. |
| 11 | 陰間 和滅亡 尚在耶和華 眼前，何況 世 人 的心呢？ | Hell and destruction are before the Lord: how much more then the hearts of the children of men? |
| 12 | 褻慢人 不 愛 受責備；他也不 就近 智慧人。 | A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise. |
| 13 | 心 中喜樂，面 帶笑容；心 裡憂愁，靈 被損傷。 | A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken. |
| 14 | 聰明人 心 求 知識；愚昧人 口 吃 愚昧。 | The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness. |
| 15 | 困苦人 的日子 都 是愁苦；心中 歡暢的，常 享豐筵。 | All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast. |
| 16 | 少有財寶，敬畏 耶和華，強 如多 有財寶，煩亂不安。 | Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith. |
| 17 | 吃 素菜，彼此相愛，強 如吃肥 牛，彼此相恨。 | Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith. |
| 18 | 暴怒 的人 挑啟 爭端；忍 怒 的人止息 紛爭。 | A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife. |
| 19 | 懶惰人 的道 像荊棘 的籬笆；正直人 的路 是平坦的大道。 | The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain. |
| 20 | 智慧 子 使父親 喜樂；愚昧 人 藐視 母親。 | A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother. |
| 21 | 無 知 的人以愚妄 為樂；聰明 的人 按正直 而行。 | Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly. |
| 22 | 不 先商議，所謀 無效；謀士 眾多，所謀乃成。 | Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. |
| 23 | 口 善應對，自覺 喜樂；話 合其時，何等 美好。 | A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it! |
| 24 | 智慧人 從生命 的道 上升，使 他遠離 在下 的陰間。 | The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath. |
| 25 | 耶和華 必拆毀 驕傲人 的家，卻要立定 寡婦 的地界。 | The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow. |
| 26 | 惡 謀 為耶和華 所憎惡；良 言 乃為純淨。 | The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord: but the words of the pure are pleasant words. |
| 27 | 貪戀 財利的，擾害 己家；恨惡 賄賂的，必得存活。 | He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live. |
| 28 | 義人 的心，思量 如何回答；惡人 的口 吐出 惡言。 | The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things. |
| 29 | 耶和華 遠離 惡人，卻聽 義人 的禱告。 | The Lord is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous. |
| 30 | 眼 有光，使心 喜樂；好 信息，使骨 滋潤。 | The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat. |
| 31 | 聽從 生命 責備 的，必常在 智慧人 中。 | The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise. |
| 32 | 棄絕 管教的，輕看 自己的生命；聽從 責備的，卻得 智慧。 | He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding. |
| 33 | 敬畏 耶和華 是智慧 的訓誨；尊榮 以前，必有謙卑。 | The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility. |
