| 1 | 山巖間 的野山羊 幾時 生產，你知道嗎？母鹿 下犢之期，你能察定嗎？ | Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve? |
| 2 | 牠們懷胎 的月數，你能數算嗎？牠們幾時 生產，你能曉得嗎？ | Canst thou number the months that they fulfil? or knowest thou the time when they bring forth? |
| 3 | 牠們屈身，將子 生下，就除掉 疼痛。 | They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they cast out their sorrows. |
| 4 | 這子 漸漸肥壯，在荒野 長大，去 而不 回。 | Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up with corn; they go forth, and return not unto them. |
| 5 | 誰 放野驢 出去 自由？誰 解開 快驢 的繩索？ | Who hath sent out the wild ass free? or who hath loosed the bands of the wild ass? |
| 6 | 我使 曠野 作牠 的住處，使鹹地 當牠的居所。 | Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings. |
| 7 | 牠嗤笑 城 內的喧嚷，不 聽 趕牲口 的喝聲。 | He scorneth the multitude of the city, neither regardeth he the crying of the driver. |
| 8 | 遍 山 是牠的草場；牠尋找 各樣 青綠之物。 | The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing. |
| 9 | 野牛 豈肯 服事你？豈 肯住 在 你的槽旁？ | Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib? |
| 10 | 你豈能用套繩 將野牛 籠在 犁溝之間？牠豈 肯隨你 耙 山谷之地？ | Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee? |
| 11 | 豈可因 牠的力 大 就倚靠 牠？豈可把你的工 交 給牠做嗎？ | Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him? |
| 12 | 豈可信靠 牠 把你的糧食 運到家，又收聚 你禾場上的穀嗎？ | Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn? |
| 13 | 鴕鳥的 翅膀 歡然搧展，豈是 顯慈愛的 翎毛 和羽毛嗎？ | Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich? |
| 14 | 因 牠把蛋 留 在地上，在 塵土 中使得溫暖； | Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust, |
| 15 | 卻想不到 被腳 踹碎，或被野 獸 踐踏。 | And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them. |
| 16 | 牠忍心 待雛，似乎不是 自己的；雖然徒 受勞苦，也不 為雛懼怕； | She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers: her labour is in vain without fear; |
| 17 | 因為 神 使牠沒有 智慧，也未 將悟性 賜 給牠。 | Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding. |
| 18 | 牠幾時 挺身 展開翅膀，就嗤笑 馬 和騎馬的人。 | What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider. |
| 19 | 馬 的大力 是你所賜的嗎？牠頸項 上挓挲的鬃 是你給牠披上的嗎？ | Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder? |
| 20 | 是你叫牠跳躍 像蝗蟲嗎？牠噴氣 之威 使人驚惶。 | Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils is terrible. |
| 21 | 牠在谷中 刨地，自喜 其力；牠出去 迎接 佩帶兵器的人。 | He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men. |
| 22 | 牠嗤笑 可怕的事 並不 驚惶，也不 因 刀劍 退回。 | He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword. |
| 23 | 箭袋 和發亮的 槍，並短槍 在牠身上 錚錚有聲。 | The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield. |
| 24 | 牠發猛烈的 怒氣 將地 吞下；一 聽角 聲 就不 耐站立。 | He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet. |
| 25 | 角 每發聲，牠說 呵哈；牠從遠處 聞著 戰氣，又聽見軍長 大發雷聲 和兵丁吶喊。 | He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting. |
| 26 | 鷹雀 飛翔，展開 翅膀 一直向南，豈是藉你的智慧嗎？ | Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south? |
| 27 | 大鷹 上騰 在高處搭 窩，豈是 聽 你的吩咐嗎？ | Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high? |
| 28 | 牠住 在山巖，以 山 峰 和堅固之所 為家， | She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place. |
| 29 | 從那裡 窺看 食物，眼睛 遠遠 觀望。 | From thence she seeketh the prey, and her eyes behold afar off. |
| 30 | 牠的雛 也咂 血；被殺的人 在哪裡，牠 也在那裡。 | Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she. |
