| 1 | 那時，耶和華 從 旋風中 回答 約伯 說： | Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, |
| 2 | 誰 用無 知的 言語 使我的旨意 暗昧不明？ | Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? |
| 3 | 你要 如勇士 束 腰；我問你，你可以指示我。 | Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. |
| 4 | 我立 大地 根基的時候，你在 哪裡呢？你若 有 聰明，只管說吧！ | Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. |
| 5 | 你若 曉得就說，是誰 定 地的尺度？是 誰 把準繩 拉 在其上？ | Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? |
| 6 | 地的根基 安置 在 何處？ 地的角 石 是誰 安放的？ | Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; |
| 7 | 那時，晨 星 一同 歌唱； 神 的眾 子 也都歡呼。 | When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? |
| 8 | 海水 衝出，如出 胎胞，那時誰將它 關閉呢？ | Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb? |
| 9 | 是我用 雲彩 當海的衣服，用幽暗 當包裹它的布， | When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it, |
| 10 | 為它 定 界限，又安 門 和閂， | And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors, |
| 11 | 說：你只可到 這裡，不可 越過；你狂傲的 浪 要到此 止住。 | And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed? |
| 12 | 你自生以來，曾命定 晨光，使清晨的日光 知道 本位， | Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place; |
| 13 | 叫這光普照 地 的四極，將惡人 從其中 驅逐出來嗎？ | That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it? |
| 14 | 因這光，地面改變 如泥 上印印，萬物出現 如 衣服一樣。 | It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment. |
| 15 | 亮光 不照 惡人；強橫的 膀臂 也必折斷。 | And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken. |
| 16 | 你曾進 到 海 源，或在深淵 的隱密處 行走嗎？ | Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth? |
| 17 | 死亡 的門 曾向你 顯露嗎？死蔭 的門 你曾見過嗎？ | Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death? |
| 18 | 地 的廣大 你能明 透嗎？你若 全 知道，只管說吧！ | Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all. |
| 19 | 光明 的居所 從何 而至？黑暗 的本位 在於何處？ | Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof, |
| 20 | 你能帶 到 本境， 能看明 其室 之路嗎？ | That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof? |
| 21 | 你總知道，因為 你早 已生在世上，你日子 的數目 也多。 | Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great? |
| 22 | 你曾進 入 雪 庫，或見過 雹 倉嗎？ | Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail, |
| 23 | 這雪雹乃是我為 降災，並打仗 和爭戰 的日子 所預備的。 | Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war? |
| 24 | 光亮 從何 路 分開？東風 從何路分散 遍 地？ | By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth? |
| 25 | 誰 為雨水 分 道？誰為雷 電 開路？ | Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder; |
| 26 | 使雨降 在 無 人 之地、無 人 居住 的曠野？ | To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man; |
| 27 | 使荒廢 淒涼 之地得以豐足，青草 得以發生？ | To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth? |
| 28 | 雨 有 父嗎？ 露水 珠 是誰 生的呢？ | Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew? |
| 29 | 冰 出於 誰 的胎？天上的 霜 是誰 生的呢？ | Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it? |
| 30 | 諸水堅硬（或譯：隱藏）如石頭；深淵 之面 凝結成冰。 | The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen. |
| 31 | 你能繫住 昴星 的結嗎？ 能解開 參星 的帶嗎？ | Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? |
| 32 | 你能按時 領出 十二宮嗎？能引導 北斗 和隨它的眾星（星：原文是子）嗎？ | Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons? |
| 33 | 你知道 天 的定例嗎？能 使地 歸 在天的權下嗎？ | Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth? |
| 34 | 你能向雲彩 揚起 聲來，使傾盆的 雨 遮蓋你嗎？ | Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee? |
| 35 | 你能發出 閃電，叫它行去，使它對你 說：我們在這裡？ | Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, Here we are? |
| 36 | 誰 將智慧 放 在懷中？ 誰 將聰明 賜 於心內？ | Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart? |
| 37 | 誰 能用智慧 數算 雲彩呢？塵土 聚集 成團，土塊 緊緊結連；那時，誰 能傾倒 天上的 瓶呢？ | Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the bottles of heaven, |
| 38 | a | When the dust groweth into hardness, and the clods cleave fast together? |
| 39 | 母獅子 在洞 中蹲伏，少壯獅子 在隱密處 埋伏；你能為牠們抓取 食物，使牠們飽 足嗎？ | Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the young lions, |
| 40 | a | When they couch in their dens, and abide in the covert to lie in wait? |
| 41 | 烏鴉之 雛 因 無 食物 飛來飛去，哀告 神；那時，誰 為牠預備 食物呢？ | Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat. |
