| 2 | 親愛的兄弟啊，我願 你 凡事 興盛， 身體健壯，正如 你 的靈魂 興盛一樣。 | Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. |
| 3 | 有弟兄 來 證明 你 心裡存的真理，正如 你 按 真理 而行，我就甚 喜樂。 | For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. |
| 4 | 我 聽見 我 的兒女們 按 真理 而行，我的喜樂 就沒 有 比這個大的。 | I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. |
| 5 | 親愛的兄弟啊，凡 你向 作客旅 之弟兄 所行 的都是 忠心的。 | Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers; |
| 6 | 他們在教會 面前 證明了 你 的愛；你若配得過 神，幫助他們 往前行，這就好了。 | Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well: |

| 9 | 我曾略略地寫信 給教會，但 那 在教會中 好為首 的丟特腓 不 接待 我們。 | I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not. |
| 10 | 所以 我若 去，必要提說 他 所行 的事，就是他用惡 言 妄論 我們。還 不 以 此 為足，他自己 不 接待 弟兄，有人願意接待，他也 禁止，並且 將接待弟兄的人趕 出 教會。 | Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church. |
| 11 | 親愛的兄弟啊，不要 效法 惡，只要 效法善。行善的 屬乎 神；行惡的 未曾 見過 神。 | Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God. |
| 12 | 低米丟行善，有 眾人 給他作見證，又有 真理給他作見證，就是 我們 也 給他作見證。你也 知道 我們的 見證 是 真的。 | Demetrius hath good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and we also bear record; and ye know that our record is true. |
| 13 | 我原有 許多事 要寫 給你，卻 不 願意 用 筆 墨 寫 給你， | I had many things to write, but I will not with ink and pen write unto thee: |
| 14 | 但 盼望 快快地 見 你， 我們就當面 談論。 | But I trust I shall shortly see thee, and we shall speak face to face. Peace be to thee. Our friends salute thee. Greet the friends by name. |
