| 1 | 耶和華 的話 臨 到 毘土珥 的兒子 約珥。 | The word of the Lord that came to Joel the son of Pethuel. |
| 2 | 老年人哪，當聽我的話；國中 的居民哪，都 要側耳而聽。在你們的日子，或 你們列祖 的日子，曾有 這樣的事嗎？ | Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers? |
| 3 | 你們要將這事 傳 與子，子 傳與孫，孫 傳與後 代。 | Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation. |
| 4 | 剪蟲 剩下的，蝗蟲 來吃；蝗蟲 剩下的，蝻子 來吃；蝻子 剩下的，螞蚱 來吃。 | That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten. |

| 7 | 牠 毀壞 我的葡萄樹，剝了 我無花果樹的皮，剝盡 而丟棄，使枝條 露白。 | He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white. |
| 8 | 我的民哪，你當哀號，像處女 腰束 麻布，為 幼年 的丈夫哀號。 | Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth. |
| 9 | 素祭 和奠祭 從耶和華 的殿中 斷絕；事奉 耶和華的 祭司 都悲哀。 | The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the Lord; the priests, the Lord’s ministers, mourn. |
| 10 | 田 荒涼，地 悲哀；因為 五穀 毀壞，新酒 乾竭，油 也缺乏。 | The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth. |
| 11 | 農夫啊，你們要慚愧；修理葡萄園的啊，你們要哀號；因為 大麥 小麥 與田間 的莊稼 都滅絕了。 | Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished. |
| 12 | 葡萄樹 枯乾；無花果樹 衰殘。石榴樹、棕樹、蘋果樹，連田野 一切的 樹木 也 都枯乾； 眾人 的喜樂 盡都消滅。 | The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men. |
| 13 | 祭司啊，你們當腰束 麻布痛哭；伺候 祭壇的啊，你們要哀號；事奉我 神的啊，你們要來 披上麻布 過夜，因為 素祭 和奠祭從你們 神 的殿中 斷絕了。 | Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God. |
| 14 | 你們要分定 禁食的日子，宣告 嚴肅會，招聚 長老 和國中 的一切 居民 到耶和華─你們 神 的殿，向 耶和華 哀求。 | Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the Lord your God, and cry unto the Lord, |
| 15 | 哀哉！ 耶和華 的日子 臨近了。這日來到，好像毀滅 從全能者 來到。 | Alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come. |
| 16 | 糧食 不是 在我們眼 前 斷絕了嗎？歡喜 快樂不是從我們 神 的殿中止息了嗎？ | Is not the meat cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and gladness from the house of our God? |
| 17 | 穀種 在土塊 下 朽爛；倉 也荒涼，廩 也破壞；因為 五穀 枯乾了。 | The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered. |
| 18 | 牲畜 哀鳴；牛 群 混亂，因為 無 草；羊 群 也 受了困苦。 | How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate. |
| 19 | 耶和華啊，我向你 求告，因為 火 燒滅 曠野 的草場；火焰 燒 盡 田野 的樹木。 | O Lord, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field. |
| 20 | 田野 的走獸 向你 發喘；因為 溪 水 乾涸，火 也燒滅 曠野 的草場。 | The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness. |
