| 2 | 「耶和華 如此 說：住 在這 城裡 的必遭刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫 而死；但出去 歸降 迦勒底人 的必得存活，就是 以自己 命 為掠物的，必得存活。 | Thus saith the Lord, He that remaineth in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth forth to the Chaldeans shall live; for he shall have his life for a prey, and shall live. |

| 16 | 西底家 王 就私下 向 耶利米 說：「我指著 那 造 我們 生命 之永生的 耶和華 起誓：我必不 殺你，也不 將你交在 尋索 你命的 人 手中。」 | So Zedekiah the king sware secretly unto Jeremiah, saying, As the Lord liveth, that made us this soul, I will not put thee to death, neither will I give thee into the hand of these men that seek thy life. |
| 17 | 耶利米 對 西底家 說：「耶和華─萬軍之 神、以色列的 神 如此 說：你若 出去 歸降 巴比倫 王 的首領，你的命 就必存活，這 城 也不致 被火 焚燒，你 和你的全家 都必存活。 | Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; If thou wilt assuredly go forth unto the king of Babylon’s princes, then thy soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and thou shalt live, and thine house: |

| 19 | 西底家 王 對 耶利米 說：「我 怕 那些 投降 迦勒底人 的猶大人，恐怕 迦勒底人將我 交 在他們手中，他們戲弄 我。」 | And Zedekiah the king said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that are fallen to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me. |
| 20 | 耶利米 說：「迦勒底人必不 將你交出。求你 聽從 我 對你 所 說 耶和華 的話，這樣你 必得好處，你的命 也必存活。 | But Jeremiah said, They shall not deliver thee. Obey, I beseech thee, the voice of the Lord, which I speak unto thee: so it shall be well unto thee, and thy soul shall live. |
| 21 | 你 若 不肯 出去，耶和華 指示 我的話 乃是 這樣： | But if thou refuse to go forth, this is the word that the Lord hath shewed me: |
| 22 | 猶大 王 宮裡 所 剩的 婦女 必都 帶 到 巴比倫 王 的首領那裡。這些婦女 必說：你知己 的朋友 催逼你，勝過 你；見你的腳 陷 入淤泥中，就轉身 退後了。 | And, behold, all the women that are left in the king of Judah’s house shall be brought forth to the king of Babylon’s princes, and those women shall say, Thy friends have set thee on, and have prevailed against thee: thy feet are sunk in the mire, and they are turned away back. |
| 23 | 「人必將 你的后妃 和 你的兒女 帶 到 迦勒底人那裡；你 也不 得脫離 他們的手，必 被巴比倫 王 的手 捉住；你也必使 這 城 被火 焚燒。」 | So they shall bring out all thy wives and thy children to the Chaldeans: and thou shalt not escape out of their hand, but shalt be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon: and thou shalt cause this city to be burned with fire. |
| 24 | 西底家 對 耶利米 說：「不要 使人 知道 這些 話，你就不至於 死。 | Then said Zedekiah unto Jeremiah, Let no man know of these words, and thou shalt not die. |
| 25 | 首領 若 聽見了 我與你 說話，就來 見你，問你 說：『你對 王 說 甚麼 話不要 向我們 隱瞞，我們就不 殺你。王 向你 說 甚麼 話也要 告訴 我們。』 | But if the princes hear that I have talked with thee, and they come unto thee, and say unto thee, Declare unto us now what thou hast said unto the king, hide it not from us, and we will not put thee to death; also what the king said unto thee: |
| 26 | 你就對他們 說：『我 在王 面前 懇 求 不要 叫我回 到約拿單的 房屋 死 在那裡。』」 | Then thou shalt say unto them, I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan’s house, to die there. |
| 27 | 隨後眾 首領 來 見 耶利米，問 他，他就照 王 所 吩咐的 一切 話 回答 他們。他們不再與他 說話，因為 事情 沒有 洩漏。 | Then came all the princes unto Jeremiah, and asked him: and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived. |
| 28 | 於是耶利米 仍 在護衛兵 的院中，直到 耶路撒冷 被攻取 的 日子。 | So Jeremiah abode in the court of the prison until the day that Jerusalem was taken: and he was there when Jerusalem was taken. |
