| 2 | 求 你容我們往 約旦河 去，各人 從那裡 取 一 根木料 建造 房屋 居住。」他說：「你們去吧！」 | Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye. |
| 3 | 有一 人說：「求 你與 僕人 同去。」回答說：「我 可以去。」 | And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go. |
| 4 | 於是以利沙與他們 同去。到了 約旦河，就砍伐 樹木。 | So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood. |

| 9 | 神 人 打發 人去見 以色列 王，說：「你要謹慎，不要從某 處 經過，因為 亞蘭人 從那裡 下來了。」 | And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down. |
| 10 | 以色列 王 差 人去 窺探神 人 所 告訴 所警戒 他去的地方，就防備未受其害，不止 一 兩次。 | And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice. |
| 11 | 亞蘭 王 因 這 事 心 裡驚疑，召了 臣僕 來，對他們 說：「我們這裡有 誰 幫助 以色列 王，你們不 指 給我嗎？」 | Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will ye not shew me which of us is for the king of Israel? |
| 12 | 有一 個臣僕 說：「我主，我王！無人幫助他，只有 以色列 中的 先知 以利沙，將 王在臥 房 所 說的 話 告訴 以色列 王了。」 | And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber. |

| 14 | 王就打發 車 馬 和大 軍 往那裡 去，夜間到了，圍困 那城。 | Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about. |
| 15 | 神 人 的僕人 清早 起來 出去，看見 車 馬 軍兵 圍困了 城。僕人 對神人 說：「哀哉！我主啊，我們怎樣 行才好呢？」 | And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? |
| 16 | 神人說：「不要 懼怕！ 與我們 同在的 比 與他們 同在的更多。」 | And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. |
| 17 | 以利沙 禱告 說：「耶和華啊，求 你開 這少年人 的眼目，使他能看見。」耶和華 開 他的眼目，他就看見 滿 山 有火 車 火馬 圍繞 以利沙。 | And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. |
| 18 | 敵人下 到以利沙那裡，以利沙 禱告 耶和華 說：「求 你 使 這 些人 的眼目昏迷。」耶和華就照以利沙 的話，使他們 的眼目昏迷。 | And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the Lord, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. |
| 19 | 以利沙 對他們 說：「這不是 那 道，也不是 那 城；你們跟我 去，我必領 你們 到 所 尋找 的人那裡。」於是領 他們 到了撒馬利亞。 | And Elisha said unto them, This is not the way, neither is this the city: follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom ye seek. But he led them to Samaria. |

And the Lord opened their eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria. |
| 21 | 以色列 王 見了 他們，就問 以利沙 說：「我父啊，我可以 擊殺他們嗎？」 | And the king of Israel said unto Elisha, when he saw them, My father, shall I smite them? shall I smite them? |
| 22 | 回答說：「不可 擊殺他們！就是 你用刀 用弓 擄來的， 豈可擊殺他們嗎（或譯：也不可擊殺，何況這些人呢）？當在他們面前 設擺 飲 食，使他們吃 喝 回 到 他們的主人那裡。」 | And he answered, Thou shalt not smite them: wouldest thou smite those whom thou hast taken captive with thy sword and with thy bow? set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master. |
| 23 | 王就為他們 預備了 許多 食物；他們吃 喝完了，打發 他們回 到 他們主人那裡。從此，亞蘭 軍 不 再 犯 以色列 境了。 | And he prepared great provision for them: and when they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. So the bands of Syria came no more into the land of Israel. |
| 24 | 此 後，亞蘭 王便‧哈達 聚集 他的全 軍，上來 圍困 撒馬利亞。 | And it came to pass after this, that Ben–hadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria. |
| 25 | 於是撒馬利亞 被圍困，有 饑荒，甚至 一個驢 頭 值銀 八十舍客勒，二升 鴿子糞 值銀 五舍客勒。 | And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass’s head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove’s dung for five pieces of silver. |
| 26 | 一日，以色列 王 在 城 上經過，有一個婦人 向他 呼叫 說：「我主，我王啊！求你幫助。」 | And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king. |
| 27 | 王說：「耶和華 不 幫助你，我從何處 幫助你？是從 禾場，是 從 酒醡呢？」 | And he said, If the Lord do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress? |
| 28 | 王 問婦人 說：「你有 甚麼苦處？」她回答說：「這 婦人 對我 說：『將 你的兒子 取來，我們今日 可以吃，明日 可以吃 我的兒子。』 | And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow. |
| 29 | 我們就煮了 我的兒子 吃了。次 日 我對她 說：『要將 你的兒子 取來，我們可以吃。』她卻將 她的兒子 藏起來了。」 | So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son. |
| 30 | 王 聽見 婦人 的話，就撕裂 衣服；（王 在 城上 經過）百姓 看見 王貼 身 穿著麻衣。 | And it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he rent his clothes; and he passed by upon the wall, and the people looked, and, behold, he had sackcloth within upon his flesh. |
| 31 | 王說：「我今日 若 容沙法 的兒子 以利沙 的頭 仍 在他項上，願 神 重重地 降 罰 與我！」 | Then he said, God do so and more also to me, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat shall stand on him this day. |
| 32 | 那時，以利沙 正坐 在家中，長老 也與他 同坐。王打發 一個伺候他 的人去；他 還沒有 到，以利沙 對 長老 說：「你們看 這 兇手 之子，打發 人來斬 我的頭；你們看著 使者 來到，就關上 門，用門 將他 推出去。在他後頭 不是 有他主人 腳步 的響聲嗎？」 | But Elisha sat in his house, and the elders sat with him; and the king sent a man from before him: but ere the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, See ye how this son of a murderer hath sent to take away mine head? look, when the messenger cometh, shut the door, and hold him fast at the door: is not the sound of his master’s feet behind him? |
| 33 | 正 說話的時候， 使者 來 到，王也到了，說：「 這 災禍 是從 耶和華那裡來的，我何必 再 仰望 耶和華呢？」 | And while he yet talked with them, behold, the messenger came down unto him: and he said, Behold, this evil is of the Lord; what should I wait for the Lord any longer? |
