| 2 | 他登基 的時候年 二十 五 歲，在耶路撒冷 作王 二十 九 年。他母親 名叫 亞比，是撒迦利雅 的女兒。 | Twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Abi, the daughter of Zachariah. |

| 8 | 希西家 攻擊 非利士人，直到 迦薩，並 迦薩的四境，從瞭望 樓 到 堅固 城。 | He smote the Philistines, even unto Gaza, and the borders thereof, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city. |

| 13 | 希西家 王 十 四 年，亞述 王 西拿基立 上來 攻擊 猶大 的一切 堅固 城，將城攻取。 | Now in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah did Sennacherib king of Assyria come up against all the fenced cities of Judah, and took them. |
| 14 | 猶大 王 希西家 差 人往拉吉 去見 亞述 王，說：「我有罪了，求你離開 我； 凡 你罰 我的，我必承當。」於是亞述 王 罰 猶大 王 希西家 銀子 三 百 他連得，金子 三十 他連得。 | And Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria to Lachish, saying, I have offended; return from me: that which thou puttest on me will I bear. And the king of Assyria appointed unto Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold. |

| 16 | 那 時，猶大 王 希西家 將 耶和華 殿 門 上的金子和 他自己 包 在柱上的 金子 都刮下來，給了 亞述 王。 | At that time did Hezekiah cut off the gold from the doors of the temple of the Lord, and from the pillars which Hezekiah king of Judah had overlaid, and gave it to the king of Assyria. |
| 17 | 亞述 王 從 拉吉 差遣 他珥探、 拉伯撒利，和 拉伯沙基 率領大 軍 往 耶路撒冷，到 希西家 王那裡去。他們上 到 耶路撒冷，就站 在上 池 的水溝旁，在漂布 地 的 大路上。 | And the king of Assyria sent Tartan and Rabsaris and Rab–shakeh from Lachish to king Hezekiah with a great host against Jerusalem. And they went up and came to Jerusalem. And when they were come up, they came and stood by the conduit of the upper pool, which is in the highway of the fuller’s field. |

| 19 | 拉伯沙基 說：「你們去 告訴 希西家 說，亞述 大 王 如此說：『你所 倚靠的 有甚麼 可仗賴 的呢？ | And Rab–shakeh said unto them, Speak ye now to Hezekiah, Thus saith the great king, the king of Assyria, What confidence is this wherein thou trustest? |
| 20 | 你說 有打仗 的計謀 和能力，我看不過 是虛 話。你到底 倚靠 誰 才 背叛 我呢？ | Thou sayest, (but they are but vain words,) I have counsel and strength for the war. Now on whom dost thou trust, that thou rebellest against me? |
| 21 | 看哪，你所倚靠的 埃及是 那 壓傷的 葦 杖；人 若靠 這杖，就必刺 透 他的手。埃及 王 法老 向一切 倚靠 他 的人也是這樣。 | Now, behold, thou trustest upon the staff of this bruised reed, even upon Egypt, on which if a man lean, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt unto all that trust on him. |
| 22 | 你們若 對我 說：我們倚靠 耶和華─我們的 神，希西家 豈不是將 神 的 邱壇 和 祭壇 廢去，且對猶大 和耶路撒冷 的人說：你們當在耶路撒冷 這 壇 前 敬拜嗎？ | But if ye say unto me, We trust in the Lord our God: is not that he, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and hath said to Judah and Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem? |
| 23 | 現在 你把當頭 給 我主 亞述 王，我給 你 二千 匹馬，看 你 這一面騎 馬 的人夠不夠。 | Now therefore, I pray thee, give pledges to my lord the king of Assyria, and I will deliver thee two thousand horses, if thou be able on thy part to set riders upon them. |
| 24 | 若不然，怎能 打敗 我主 臣僕 中最小的 軍長呢？你竟 倚靠 埃及 的戰車 馬兵嗎？ | How then wilt thou turn away the face of one captain of the least of my master’s servants, and put thy trust on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen? |
| 25 | 現在 我上來 攻擊 毀滅 這 地，豈沒有 耶和華的意思嗎？耶和華 吩咐我 說：你上去 攻擊 毀滅 這 地吧！』」 | Am I now come up without the Lord against this place to destroy it? The Lord said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it. |
| 26 | 希勒家 的兒子 以利亞敬 和舍伯那，並約亞，對 拉伯沙基 說：「求 你用亞蘭言語 和 僕人 說話，因為 我們 懂得；不要 用猶大言語 和我們 說話，達到 城上 百姓 的耳中。」 | Then said Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, and Shebna, and Joah, unto Rab–shakeh, Speak, I pray thee, to thy servants in the Syrian language; for we understand it: and talk not with us in the Jews’ language in the ears of the people that are on the wall. |
| 27 | 拉伯沙基 說：「我主 差遣我來，豈是單對 你 和你的主 說 這些 話嗎？不 也是對 這些坐 在 城上、要與你們 一同吃 自己糞、喝 自己尿 的人說嗎？」 | But Rab–shakeh said unto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you? |
| 28 | 於是拉伯沙基 站著，用猶大言語 大 聲 喊著 說：「你們當聽 亞述 大 王 的話！ | Then Rab–shakeh stood and cried with a loud voice in the Jews’ language, and spake, saying, Hear the word of the great king, the king of Assyria: |
| 29 | 王 如此 說：『你們不要 被希西家 欺哄了；因 他不 能 救 你們 脫離我的手。 | Thus saith the king, Let not Hezekiah deceive you: for he shall not be able to deliver you out of his hand: |
| 30 | 也不要 聽希西家 使你們 倚靠 耶和華，說 耶和華 必要 拯救我們， 這 城 必不 交 在亞述 王 的手中。』 | Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in the Lord, saying, The Lord will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria. |
| 31 | 不要 聽 希西家的話！因 亞述 王 如此 說：『你們要與我 和好，出來 投降我，各人 就可以吃 自己葡萄樹 和 無花果樹的果子， 喝 自己井 裡的水。 | Hearken not to Hezekiah: for thus saith the king of Assyria, Make an agreement with me by a present, and come out to me, and then eat ye every man of his own vine, and every one of his fig tree, and drink ye every one the waters of his cistern: |
| 32 | 等 我來 領 你們 到 一個地方 與你們本地一樣，就是有五穀 和新酒 之地，有糧食 和葡萄園 之地，有橄欖 樹 和蜂蜜 之地，好使你們存活，不至 於死。 希西家 勸導 你們，說 耶和華 必拯救我們；你們不要 聽他的話。 | Until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of corn and wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of oil olive and of honey, that ye may live, and not die: and hearken not unto Hezekiah, when he persuadeth you, saying, The Lord will deliver us. |
| 33 | 列國 的神 有哪一個 救 他本國 脫離 亞述 王 的手呢？ | Hath any of the gods of the nations delivered at all his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria? |
| 34 | 哈馬、亞珥拔 的神 在哪裡呢？西法瓦音、希拿、以瓦 的神 在哪裡呢？ 他們曾救 撒馬利亞 脫離我的手嗎？ | Where are the gods of Hamath, and of Arpad? where are the gods of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivah? have they delivered Samaria out of mine hand? |
| 35 | 這些國 的 神 有誰 曾救 自己的國 脫離我的手呢？難道 耶和華 能救 耶路撒冷 脫離我的手嗎？』」 | Who are they among all the gods of the countries, that have delivered their country out of mine hand, that the Lord should deliver Jerusalem out of mine hand? |
| 36 | 百姓 靜默不言，並不 回答 一句，因為 王 曾吩咐 說：「不要 回答他。」 | But the people held their peace, and answered him not a word: for the king’s commandment was, saying, Answer him not. |
| 37 | 當下，希勒家 的兒子 家 宰 以利亞敬 和書記 舍伯那，並亞薩 的兒子 史官 約亞，都撕裂 衣服，來 到 希西家那裡，將拉伯沙基 的話 告訴了 他。 | Then came Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder, to Hezekiah with their clothes rent, and told him the words of Rab–shakeh. |
