| 1 | 耶戶 第七 年，約阿施 登基，在耶路撒冷 作王 四十 年。他母親 名 叫西比亞，是別是巴人。 | In the seventh year of Jehu Jehoash began to reign; and forty years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Zibiah of Beer–sheba. |
| 2 | 約阿施在 祭司 耶何耶大 教訓他 的時候，就行 耶和華 眼中 看為正的事； | And Jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the Lord all his days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him. |
| 3 | 只是 邱壇 還沒有 廢去，百姓 仍在那裡 獻祭 燒香。 | But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places. |
| 4 | 約阿施 對 眾祭司 說：「凡 奉到 耶和華 殿 分別為聖 之物所 值通用 的銀子，或各人 當納 的身 價，或樂意 奉 到 耶和華 殿的 銀子， | And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the Lord, even the money of every one that passeth the account, the money that every man is set at, and all the money that cometh into any man’s heart to bring into the house of the Lord, |
| 5 | 你們 當從 所認識 的人 收了來， 修理 殿 的一切 破壞之處。」 | Let the priests take it to them, every man of his acquaintance: and let them repair the breaches of the house, wheresoever any breach shall be found. |
| 6 | 無奈到了 約阿施 王 二十 三 年，祭司 仍未 修理 殿 的破壞之處。 | But it was so, that in the three and twentieth year of king Jehoash the priests had not repaired the breaches of the house. |
| 7 | 所以約阿施 王 召了 大祭司 耶何耶大 和眾祭司來，對他們 說：「你們怎麼 不 修理 殿 的破壞之處呢？從今以後，你們不要 從 所認識 的人再收 銀子，要 將所收的交出來，修理殿 的破壞之處。」 | Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and the other priests, and said unto them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore receive no more money of your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house. |
| 8 | 眾祭司 答應 不再 收 百姓 的銀子，也不 修理 殿 的破壞之處。 | And the priests consented to receive no more money of the people, neither to repair the breaches of the house. |
| 9 | 祭司 耶何耶大 取了 一個 櫃子，在櫃蓋 上鑽了 一個窟窿，放 於壇 旁，在 進 耶和華 殿 的右邊；守 門 的祭司 將 奉到 耶和華 殿 的一切 銀子 投 在櫃裡。 | But Jehoiada the priest took a chest, and bored a hole in the lid of it, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one cometh into the house of the Lord: and the priests that kept the door put therein all the money that was brought into the house of the Lord. |
| 10 | 他們見 櫃 裡的銀子 多了，便叫王 的書記 和大 祭司 上來，將 耶和華 殿 裡的銀子 數算 包起來。 | And it was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king’s scribe and the high priest came up, and they put up in bags, and told the money that was found in the house of the Lord. |
| 11 | 把 所平 的銀子 交 給 督 工的，就是耶和華 殿 裡辦 事的人；他們把銀子轉交 修理 耶和華 殿 的木 匠 和工人， | And they gave the money, being told, into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of the Lord: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the Lord, |
| 12 | 並瓦匠、石 匠，又買 木料 和鑿成的 石頭，修理 耶和華 殿 的破壞之處，以及修理 殿 的各樣 使用。 | And to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the Lord, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it. |
| 13 | 但 那奉到 耶和華 殿的 銀子，沒有 用以做 耶和華 殿 裡的銀 杯、蠟剪、碗、號，和別樣的 金 銀 器皿， | Howbeit there were not made for the house of the Lord bowls of silver, snuffers, basons, trumpets, any vessels of gold, or vessels of silver, of the money that was brought into the house of the Lord: |
| 14 | 乃 將那銀子交 給督 工 的人修理 耶和華 的殿； | But they gave that to the workmen, and repaired therewith the house of the Lord. |
| 15 | 且將 銀子 交 給 辦事的人 轉交 做 工的人，不 與 他們 算賬，因為 他們 辦事 誠實。 | Moreover they reckoned not with the men, into whose hand they delivered the money to be bestowed on workmen: for they dealt faithfully. |
| 16 | 惟有贖愆祭、贖罪祭 的銀子 沒有 奉到 耶和華 的殿，都歸 祭司。 | The trespass money and sin money was not brought into the house of the Lord: it was the priests’. |
| 17 | 那時，亞蘭 王 哈薛 上來 攻打 迦特，攻取了， 就定 意 上來 攻打 耶路撒冷。 | Then Hazael king of Syria went up, and fought against Gath, and took it: and Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem. |
| 18 | 猶大 王 約阿施 將 他列祖 猶大 王 約沙法、約蘭、亞哈謝 所 分別為聖 的物 和 自己所分別為聖的物，並 耶和華 殿 與王 宮 府庫 裡 所有的 金子 都送 給亞蘭 王 哈薛；哈薛就不上 耶路撒冷 來了。 | And Jehoash king of Judah took all the hallowed things that Jehoshaphat, and Jehoram, and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own hallowed things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of the Lord, and in the king’s house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria: and he went away from Jerusalem. |
| 19 | 約阿施 其餘 的事，凡 他所 行的 都寫 在 猶大 列王 記上。 | And the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? |
| 20 | 約阿施 的臣僕 起來 背叛，在下 悉拉 的米羅 宮 那裡將他 殺了。 | And his servants arose, and made a conspiracy, and slew Joash in the house of Millo, which goeth down to Silla. |
| 21 | 殺 他的那臣僕 就是示米押 的兒子 約撒甲 和朔默 的兒子 約薩拔。 眾人將他 葬 在 大衛 城 他列祖的墳地裡。他兒子 亞瑪謝 接續他 作王。 | For Jozachar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, smote him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Amaziah his son reigned in his stead. |
