| 2 | 但約蘭 王 的女兒，亞哈謝 的妹子 約示巴，將 亞哈謝 的兒子 約阿施 從那被殺的 王 子 中 偷出來，把他 和 他的乳母 都藏 在臥 房裡，躲避 亞她利雅，免得 被殺。 | But Jehosheba, the daughter of king Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king’s sons which were slain; and they hid him, even him and his nurse, in the bedchamber from Athaliah, so that he was not slain. |

| 8 | 各人 手 拿兵器，四圍 護衛 王。凡擅入 你們班次 的必當治死，王 出 入的時候，你們當 跟隨他。」 | And ye shall compass the king round about, every man with his weapons in his hand: and he that cometh within the ranges, let him be slain: and be ye with the king as he goeth out and as he cometh in. |
| 9 | 眾百夫長 就照著祭司 耶何耶大 一切 所 吩咐的 去行，各 帶 所管安息日 進班 出班 的人 來 見 祭司 耶何耶大。 | And the captains over the hundreds did according to all things that Jehoiada the priest commanded: and they took every man his men that were to come in on the sabbath, with them that should go out on the sabbath, and came to Jehoiada the priest. |

| 11 | 護衛兵 手中 各 拿兵器，在壇 和殿那裡，從殿 右 直到 殿 左，站 在 王子 的四圍。 | And the guard stood, every man with his weapons in his hand, round about the king, from the right corner of the temple to the left corner of the temple, along by the altar and the temple. |

| 15 | 祭司 耶何耶大 吩咐 管轄 軍兵 的百夫長 說：「將她 趕出 班 外，凡跟 隨她 的必用刀 殺死！」因為 祭司 說「不可 在耶和華 殿裡 殺她」， | But Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of the hundreds, the officers of the host, and said unto them, Have her forth without the ranges: and him that followeth her kill with the sword. For the priest had said, Let her not be slain in the house of the Lord. |
| 16 | 眾兵就閃 開 讓她去；她從馬 路 上 王 宮 去，便在那裡 被殺。 | And they laid hands on her; and she went by the way by the which the horses came into the king’s house: and there was she slain. |
| 17 | 耶何耶大使 王 和 民 與 耶和華 立 約，作 耶和華 的民；又使 王 與 民立約。 | And Jehoiada made a covenant between the Lord and the king and the people, that they should be the Lord’s people; between the king also and the people. |
| 18 | 於是國 民 都 到 巴力 廟，拆毀了廟，打碎 壇 和 像，又在壇 前 將 巴力 的祭司 瑪坦 殺了。祭司 耶何耶大派 官 看守 耶和華 的殿， | And all the people of the land went into the house of Baal, and brake it down; his altars and his images brake they in pieces thoroughly, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. And the priest appointed officers over the house of the Lord. |
| 19 | 又率領 百夫長 和 迦利人（或譯：親兵）與 護衛兵，以及 國中 的眾 民，請 王 從耶和華 殿 下來，由護衛兵 的門 進入 王 宮，他就坐了 王 位。 | And he took the rulers over hundreds, and the captains, and the guard, and all the people of the land; and they brought down the king from the house of the Lord, and came by the way of the gate of the guard to the king’s house. And he sat on the throne of the kings. |
| 20 | 國 民 都 歡樂，閤城 都安靜。眾人已將 亞她利雅 在王 宮 那裡用刀 殺了。 | And all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was in quiet: and they slew Athaliah with the sword beside the king’s house. |
| 21 | 約阿施 登基 的時候年 方七 歲。 | Seven years old was Jehoash when he began to reign. |
