| 10 | 「你去 告訴 大衛 說，耶和華 如此 說：我 有 三樣災，隨你 選擇 一 樣，我好降 與你。」 | Go and tell David, saying, Thus saith the Lord, I offer thee three things: choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee. |
| 11 | 於是，迦得 來 見 大衛，對他 說：「耶和華 如此 說：『你可以隨意 選擇： | So Gad came to David, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Choose thee |
| 12 | 或 三 年 的饑荒；或 敗 在你敵人 面前，被敵人 的刀 追殺 三 個月；或 在你國 中有耶和華 的刀，就是三 日 的瘟疫，耶和華 的使者 在以色列 的四 境 施行毀滅。』現在 你要想一想， 我好回 覆 那差我來的。」 | Either three years’ famine; or three months to be destroyed before thy foes, while that the sword of thine enemies overtaketh thee; or else three days the sword of the Lord, even the pestilence, in the land, and the angel of the Lord destroying throughout all the coasts of Israel. Now therefore advise thyself what word I shall bring again to him that sent me. |
| 13 | 大衛 對 迦得 說：「我甚 為難。我願 落 在耶和華 的手裡，因為 他有豐盛 的憐憫；我不 願落 在人 的手裡。」 | And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let me fall now into the hand of the Lord; for very great are his mercies: but let me not fall into the hand of man. |

And the angel of the Lord stood by the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite. |
| 16 | 大衛 舉 目，看見 耶和華 的使者 站 在 天 地 間，手 裡有拔出來 的刀，伸 在 耶路撒冷以上。大衛 和長老 都身穿 麻衣，面 伏 於地。 | And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the Lord stand between the earth and the heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders of Israel, who were clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces. |
| 17 | 大衛 禱告 神 說：「吩咐 數點 百姓 的不是 我嗎？我 犯了罪，行了 惡，但這 群羊 做 了甚麼呢？ 願 耶和華─我 神 的手 攻擊我 和我的父 家，不要 攻擊你的民，降瘟疫與他們。」 | And David said unto God, Is it not I that commanded the people to be numbered? even I it is that have sinned and done evil indeed; but as for these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, O Lord my God, be on me, and on my father’s house; but not on thy people, that they should be plagued. |
| 18 | 耶和華 的使者 吩咐 迦得 去告訴 大衛， 叫他 上去，在耶布斯人 阿珥楠 的禾場 上為耶和華 築 一座壇； | Then the angel of the Lord commanded Gad to say to David, that David should go up, and set up an altar unto the Lord in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite. |
| 19 | 大衛 就照著迦得 奉耶和華 名 所 說 的話 上去了。 | And David went up at the saying of Gad, which he spake in the name of the Lord. |
| 20 | 那時阿珥楠 正打 麥子， 回頭 看見 天使，就和他 四 個兒子 都藏起來了。 | And Ornan turned back, and saw the angel; and his four sons with him hid themselves. Now Ornan was threshing wheat. |
| 21 | 大衛 到 了 阿珥楠那裡，阿珥楠 看 見 大衛，就從 禾場 上出去，臉 伏於地，向他 下拜。 | And as David came to Ornan, Ornan looked and saw David, and went out of the threshingfloor, and bowed himself to David with his face to the ground. |
| 22 | 大衛 對 阿珥楠 說：「你將這禾場 與相連之地 賣 給我，我必給你足 價，我好在其上 為耶和華 築 一座壇，使民間 的瘟疫 止住。」 | Then David said to Ornan, Grant me the place of this threshingfloor, that I may build an altar therein unto the Lord: thou shalt grant it me for the full price: that the plague may be stayed from the people. |
| 23 | 阿珥楠 對 大衛 說：「你 可以用這禾場，願我主 我王 照你所喜悅 的去行。 我也將牛 給 你作燔祭，把打糧的器具 當柴燒，拿麥子 作素祭。這些我都 送給你。」 | And Ornan said unto David, Take it to thee, and let my lord the king do that which is good in his eyes: lo, I give thee the oxen also for burnt offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the meat offering; I give it all. |
| 24 | 大衛 王 對阿珥楠 說：「不然！ 我必 要用足 價 向你買。 我不 用 你的 物 獻給耶和華，也不用白得 之物獻 為燔祭。」 | And king David said to Ornan, Nay; but I will verily buy it for the full price: for I will not take that which is thine for the Lord, nor offer burnt offerings without cost. |
| 25 | 於是大衛 為那塊地 平了 六 百 舍客勒 金子 給 阿珥楠。 | So David gave to Ornan for the place six hundred shekels of gold by weight. |
| 26 | 大衛 在那裡 為耶和華 築了 一座壇，獻 燔祭 和平安祭，求告 耶和華。耶和華就應允他，使火 從 天 降在 燔祭 壇上。 | And David built there an altar unto the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called upon the Lord; and he answered him from heaven by fire upon the altar of burnt offering. |
| 27 | 耶和華 吩咐 使者，他就收 刀 入 鞘。 | And the Lord commanded the angel; and he put up his sword again into the sheath thereof. |
| 28 | 那 時，大衛 見 耶和華 在耶布斯人 阿珥楠 的禾場 上應允了他，就在那裡 獻祭。 | At that time when David saw that the Lord had answered him in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite, then he sacrificed there. |
| 29 | 摩西 在曠野 所 造 之耶和華 的帳幕 和燔祭 壇 都在基遍 的高處； | For the tabernacle of the Lord, which Moses made in the wilderness, and the altar of the burnt offering, were at that season in the high place at Gibeon. |
| 30 | 只是大衛 不 敢 前去 求問 神，因為 懼怕 耶和華 使者 的刀。 | But David could not go before it to enquire of God: for he was afraid because of the sword of the angel of the Lord. |
