1 大衛 在大衛 城 為自己 建造 宮殿，又為 神 的約櫃 預備 地方，支搭 帳幕。 And David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.
2 那時 大衛 說：「除了 利未人之外，無人 可抬 神 的約櫃；因為 耶和華 揀選 他們 抬 神 的約櫃，且 永遠 事奉他。」 Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the Lord chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.
3 大衛 招聚 以色列 眾人 到 耶路撒冷，要將 耶和華 的約櫃 抬 到 他所 預備 的地方。 And David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the Lord unto his place, which he had prepared for it.
4 大衛 又聚集 亞倫 的子孫 和 利未人。 And David assembled the children of Aaron, and the Levites:
5 哥轄 子孫 中有族長 烏列 和他的弟兄 一百 二十人。 Of the sons of Kohath; Uriel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twenty:
6 米拉利 子孫 中有族長 亞帥雅 和他的弟兄 二百 二十人。 Of the sons of Merari; Asaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty:
7 革順 子孫 中有族長 約珥 和他的弟兄 一百 三十人。 Of the sons of Gershom; Joel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and thirty:
8 以利撒反 子孫 中有族長 示瑪雅 和他的弟兄 二百人。 Of the sons of Elizaphan; Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred:
9 希伯崙 子孫 中有族長 以列 和他的弟兄 八十人。 Of the sons of Hebron; Eliel the chief, and his brethren fourscore:
10 烏薛 子孫 中有族長 亞米拿達 和他的弟兄 一百 一十 二人。 Of the sons of Uzziel; Amminadab the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twelve.
11 大衛 將祭司 撒督 和亞比亞他，並利未人 烏列、亞帥雅、約珥、示瑪雅、以列、亞米拿達 召來， And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,
12 對他們 說：「你們 是利未人 的族 長，你們 和你們的弟兄 應當自潔，好將 耶和華─以色列 神 的約櫃 抬 到 我所預備的地方。 And said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it.
13 因 你們 先前 沒有抬這約櫃， 按定例 求問 耶和華─我們的 神，所以他刑罰（原文是闖殺）我們。」 For because ye did it not at the first, the Lord our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.
14 於是祭司 利未人 自潔，好將 耶和華─以色列 神 的約櫃 抬上來。 So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel.
15 利未 子孫 就用槓，肩 抬 神 的約櫃，是照 耶和華 藉摩西 所吩咐的。 And the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the Lord.
16 大衛 吩咐 利未人 的族長，派 他們歌唱 的弟兄 用 琴 瑟 和鈸 作樂，歡歡喜喜地 大 聲 歌頌。 And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.
17 於是利未人 派 約珥 的兒子 希幔 和 他弟兄 中比利家 的兒子 亞薩，並 他們族弟兄 米拉利 子孫 裡古沙雅 的兒子 以探。 So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;
18 其次 還有 他們的弟兄 撒迦利雅、便‧雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、烏尼、以利押、比拿雅、瑪西雅、瑪他提雅、以利斐利戶、彌克尼雅，並守門的俄別‧以東 和耶利。 And with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed–edom, and Jeiel, the porters.
19 這樣，派歌唱的 希幔、亞薩、以探 敲銅 鈸，大發響聲； So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed to sound with cymbals of brass;
20 派撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、烏尼、以利押、瑪西雅、比拿雅 鼓瑟，調用 女音； And Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries on Alamoth;
21 又派瑪他提雅、以利斐利戶、彌克尼雅、俄別‧以東、耶利、亞撒西雅 領首 彈琴，調用 第八。 And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed–edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith to excel.
22 利未人 的族長 基拿尼雅 是歌唱人的首領，又教訓人 歌唱，因為 他 精通此事。 And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was for song: he instructed about the song, because he was skilful.
23 比利家、以利加拿 是約櫃 前守門的。 And Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.
24 祭司 示巴尼、約沙法、拿坦業、亞瑪賽、撒迦利雅、比拿亞、以利以謝在 神 的約櫃 前 吹 號。俄別‧以東 和耶希亞 也是約櫃 前守門的。 And Shebaniah, and Jehoshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obed–edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.
25 於是，大衛 和以色列 的長老，並千夫 長 都去 從俄別‧以東 的家 歡歡喜喜地 將 耶和華 的約 櫃 抬上來。 So David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the house of Obed–edom with joy.
26 神 賜恩 與 抬 耶和華 約 櫃 的利未人，他們就獻上 七隻 公牛，七隻 公羊。 And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.
27 大衛 和抬 約櫃的 利未人，並歌唱人 的首領 基拿尼雅，以及歌唱的人，都穿著 細麻布 的外袍；大衛 另外穿著 細麻布 的以弗得。 And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers: David also had upon him an ephod of linen.
28 這樣，以色列 眾人 歡呼 吹角、吹號、敲鈸、鼓瑟、彈琴，大發響聲，將 耶和華 的約 櫃 抬上來。 Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.
29 耶和華 的約 櫃 進了 大衛 城的時候，掃羅 的女兒 米甲 從 窗戶 裡觀看，見 大衛 王 踴躍 跳舞，心裡 就輕視 他。 And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.
