| 1 | 大衛 與 千夫 長、百夫長，就是一切 首領 商議。 | And David consulted with the captains of thousands and hundreds, and with every leader. |
| 2 | 大衛 對以色列 全 會眾 說：「你們 若 以為美，見這事是出於 耶和華─我們的 神，我們就差遣人 走 遍 以色列 地，見 我們未來的 弟兄，又 見住 在有郊野 之城 的祭司 利未人，使他們都到 這裡來聚集。 | And David said unto all the congregation of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that it be of the Lord our God, let us send abroad unto our brethren every where, that are left in all the land of Israel, and with them also to the priests and Levites which are in their cities and suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us: |
| 3 | 我們要把 神 的約櫃 運 到我們這裡來；因為 在掃羅 年間，我們沒有 在約櫃前求問 神。」 | And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we enquired not at it in the days of Saul. |

| 5 | 於是，大衛 將 以色列人 從 埃及 的西曷河 直到 哈馬 口 都 招聚了來，要從基列耶琳 將 神 的約櫃 運來。 | So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjath–jearim. |

| 10 | 耶和華 向他 發 怒，因 他 伸 手 扶住 約櫃 擊殺他，他就死在 神 面前。 | And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God. |
| 11 | 大衛 因 耶和華擊殺（原文是闖殺）烏撒，心裡愁煩，就稱 那 地方為毘列斯‧烏撒，直到 今 日。 | And David was displeased, because the Lord had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perez–uzza to this day. |
| 12 | 那 日，大衛 懼怕 神，說：「 神 的約櫃 怎 可運 到我這裡來？」 | And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me? |
| 13 | 於是大衛 不 將 約櫃 運 進 大衛 的城，卻運 到 迦特人俄別‧以東 的家中。 | So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed–edom the Gittite. |
| 14 | 神 的約櫃 在俄別‧以東 家中 三個 月，耶和華 賜福 給俄別‧以東 的家 和 他 一切 所有的。 | And the ark of God remained with the family of Obed–edom in his house three months. And the Lord blessed the house of Obed–edom, and all that he had. |
