| 1 | 耶和華 的話 臨 到我 說： | And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, |
| 2 | 「人 子啊，葡萄 樹 比別樣 樹 有 甚麼強處？葡萄枝 比眾樹 枝有甚麼好處？ | Son of man, What is the vine tree more than any tree, or than a branch which is among the trees of the forest? |
| 3 | 其上 可以取 木料 做 甚麼工用，可以 取來 做釘子 掛 甚麼 器皿麼？ | Shall wood be taken thereof to do any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon? |
| 4 | 看哪，已經拋 在火 中當作柴燒，火 既燒了 兩 頭，中間 也被燒了，還有益於 工用嗎？ | Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire devoureth both the ends of it, and the midst of it is burned. Is it meet for any work? |
| 5 | 完全 的時候 尚且不 合乎 甚麼工用，何況 被火 燒 壞，還能 合乎 甚麼工用麼？」 | Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less shall it be meet yet for any work, when the fire hath devoured it, and it is burned? |
| 6 | 所以，主 耶和華 如此 說： 眾樹 以內的葡萄 樹，我怎樣 使 它在火 中當柴，也必照樣 待 耶路撒冷 的居民。 | Therefore thus saith the Lord God; As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem. |
| 7 | 我必向他們 變 臉；他們雖從火 中出來，火 卻要燒滅他們。我向他們 變 臉的時候，你們就知道 我 是耶和華。 | And I will set my face against them; they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I set my face against them. |
| 8 | 我必使 地土 荒涼，因為 他們行事 干犯我。這是主 耶和華 說的。」 | And I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, saith the Lord God. |
