1 以色列 眾 支派 來 到希伯崙 見 大衛， 說：「 我們 原是你的骨 肉。 Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.
2 從前 掃羅 作 我們 王的時候，率領 以色列 人出 入 的是 你；耶和華 也曾應許你 說：『你 必牧養 我的民 以色列， 作 以色列 的君。』」 Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the Lord said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel.
3 於是以色列 的長老 都 來 到 希伯崙 見大衛 王，大衛 在希伯崙 耶和華 面前 與他們 立 約，他們就膏 大衛 作 以色列 的王。 So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the Lord: and they anointed David king over Israel.
4 大衛 登基 的時候年 三十 歲，在位 四十 年； David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.
5 在希伯崙 作 猶大 王 七 年 零六個 月，在耶路撒冷 作 以色列 和猶大 王 三十 三 年。 In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.
6 大衛 和跟隨他的人 到了 耶路撒冷，要攻打 住 那地方的耶布斯人。耶布斯人 對大衛 說：「你若不 趕出 瞎子、瘸子，必不能 進 這地方」；心裡想 大衛 決不能 進去。 And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.
7 然而大衛 攻取 錫安 的保障，就是 大衛 的城。 Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.
8 當 日，大衛 說：「誰 攻打 耶布斯人，當上 水溝 攻打我 心裡 所恨惡的 瘸子、 瞎子。」從 此 有俗語說：「在那裡有瞎子、瘸子，他不能 進 屋去。」 And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, that are hated of David’s soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.
9 大衛 住 在保障裡，給保障 起名叫 大衛 城。大衛 又從 米羅 以裡，周圍 築牆。 So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.
10 大衛 日見 強盛，因為耶和華─萬軍之 神 與他同在。 And David went on, and grew great, and the Lord God of hosts was with him.
11 泰爾 王 希蘭 將香柏 木 運到 大衛那裡，又差遣 使者 和木匠、石匠 給大衛 建造 宮殿。 And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David an house.
12 大衛 就知道 耶和華 堅立他 作 以色列 王，又 為 自己的民 以色列 使他的國 興旺。 And David perceived that the Lord had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel’s sake.
13 大衛 離開 希伯崙 之後，在耶路撒冷 又 立 后 妃，又 生 兒 女。 And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.
14 在耶路撒冷 所生的兒子是 沙母亞、朔罷、拿單、所羅門、 And these be the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,
15 益轄、以利書亞、尼斐、雅非亞、 Ibhar also, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
16 以利沙瑪、以利雅大、以利法列。 And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet.
17 非利士人 聽見 人膏 大衛 作 以色列 王，非利士 眾人 就上來 尋索 大衛；大衛 聽見，就下 到 保障。 But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold.
18 非利士人 來了，布散 在利乏音 谷。 The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
19 大衛 求問 耶和華 說：「我可以上去 攻打 非利士人嗎？你將他們交 在我手裡嗎？」耶和華 說：「你可以上去， 我必 將 非利士人 交 在你手裡。」 And David enquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the Lord said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.
20 大衛 來到巴力‧毘拉心， 在那裡 擊殺非利士人，說：「耶和華 在我面前 沖破 敵人，如同水 沖去一般。」因 此 稱 那 地方 為巴力‧毘拉心。 And David came to Baal–perazim, and David smote them there, and said, The Lord hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal–perazim.
21 非利士人將 偶像 撇 在那裡，大衛 和跟隨他的人 拿去了。 And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.
22 非利士人 又 上來，布散 在利乏音 谷。 And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
23 大衛 求問 耶和華；耶和華說：「不要 一直地上去，要轉 到 他們後頭，從桑林 對面 攻打 他們。 And when David enquired of the Lord, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
24 你聽見 桑樹 梢上 有腳步 的聲音，就要 急速前去，因為 那時 耶和華 已經在你前頭 去 攻打 非利士人 的軍隊。」 And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the Lord go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.
25 大衛 就遵著 耶和華 所 吩咐 的去行，攻打 非利士人，從迦巴 直 到 基色。 And David did so, as the Lord had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.
