| 2 | 只有 耶和華 為聖；除 他以外 沒有可比的，也沒有 磐石像我們的 神。 | There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God. |
| 3 | 人不要 誇口 說 驕傲的話，也不要 出 狂妄的言語；因 耶和華 是大有智識的 神，人的行為 被他 衡量。 | Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. |

| 8 | 他從灰塵裡 抬舉 貧寒人，從糞堆中 提拔 窮乏人，使他們與 王子 同坐，得著 榮耀的 座位。 地 的柱子 屬於耶和華；他將世界 立 在其上。 | He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and he hath set the world upon them. |

| 13 | 這二祭司 待 百姓 是這樣的規矩：凡 有人 獻 祭，正煮 肉的時候，祭司 的僕人 就來，手 拿三 齒 的叉子， | And the priests’ custom with the people was, that, when any man offered sacrifice, the priest’s servant came, while the flesh was in seething, with a fleshhook of three teeth in his hand; |
| 14 | 將叉子 往罐裡，或 鼎裡，或 釜裡，或 鍋裡 一插， 插 上來的肉，祭司 都取了 去。凡 上 到示羅 的以色列人，他們都是這樣 看待。 | And he struck it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; all that the fleshhook brought up the priest took for himself. So they did in Shiloh unto all the Israelites that came thither. |
| 15 | 又 在未燒 脂油 以前，祭司 的僕人 就來 對獻祭 的人 說：「將肉 給 祭司，叫他烤吧。他不要 煮過的， 要生的。」 | Also before they burnt the fat, the priest’s servant came, and said to the man that sacrificed, Give flesh to roast for the priest; for he will not have sodden flesh of thee, but raw. |
| 16 | 獻祭的人 若說：「必須 先 燒 脂油，然後你 可以隨 意 取肉。」僕人就說：「 你立時 給我，不然 我便搶去。」 | And if any man said unto him, Let them not fail to burn the fat presently, and then take as much as thy soul desireth; then he would answer him, Nay; but thou shalt give it me now: and if not, I will take it by force. |
| 17 | 如此，這二少年人 的罪 在 耶和華 面前 甚 重了，因為他們藐視耶和華的祭物（或譯：他們使人 厭棄 給耶和華 獻祭）。 | Wherefore the sin of the young men was very great before the Lord: for men abhorred the offering of the Lord. |
| 18 | 那時，撒母耳 還是孩子，穿著 細麻布 的以弗得，侍立 在 耶和華 面前。 | But Samuel ministered before the Lord, being a child, girded with a linen ephod. |
| 19 | 他母親 每年 為他 做 一件小 外袍，同著 丈夫 上來 獻 年 祭 的時候帶來 給他。 | Moreover his mother made him a little coat, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice. |
| 20 | 以利 為 以利加拿 和 他的妻 祝福，說：「願耶和華 由 這 婦人 再賜 你 後裔，代替 你從耶和華 求 來的孩子。」他們就回 本鄉去了。 | And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The Lord give thee seed of this woman for the loan which is lent to the Lord. And they went unto their own home. |
| 21 | 耶和華 眷顧 哈拿，她就懷孕 生了 三個 兒子，兩個 女兒。那孩子 撒母耳 在 耶和華 面前漸漸長大。 | And the Lord visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the Lord. |
| 22 | 以利 年甚 老邁，聽見 他兩個兒子 待 以色列 眾人 的事，又聽見 他們與 會 幕 門 前伺候 的婦人 苟合， | Now Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons did unto all Israel; and how they lay with the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. |
| 23 | 他就對他們 說：「你們為何 行 這 樣的事呢？ 我 從 這 眾 百姓 聽見 你們的惡 行。 | And he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by all this people. |
| 24 | 我兒啊，不可這樣！ 我 聽見 你們的風聲 不 好，你們使耶和華 的百姓 犯了罪。 | Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the Lord’s people to transgress. |
| 25 | 人 若 得罪 人，有士師 審判他；人 若 得罪 耶和華，誰 能為他 祈求呢？」然而他們還是不 聽 父親 的話，因為 耶和華 想要 殺他們。 | If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the Lord, who shall intreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because the Lord would slay them. |
| 26 | 孩子 撒母耳 漸漸 長大， 耶和華 與 人 越發喜愛他。 | And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favour both with the Lord, and also with men. |
| 27 | 有神 人 來 見 以利，對他 說：「耶和華 如此 說：『你祖父 在 埃及 法老 家作奴僕的時候，我不是向 他們 顯現嗎？ | And there came a man of God unto Eli, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Did I plainly appear unto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in Pharaoh’s house? |
| 28 | 在以色列 眾 支派中，我不是揀選 人 作我的 祭司，使他燒 香，在 我壇 上獻祭，在我面前 穿 以弗得，又將 以色列 人 所 獻的火祭 都賜 給你父 家嗎？ | And did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to offer upon mine altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? and did I give unto the house of thy father all the offerings made by fire of the children of Israel? |
| 29 | 我所 吩咐 獻在我居所 的祭 物，你們為何 踐踏？尊重 你的兒子 過於尊重我，將我民 以色列 所獻美好的 祭物 肥己呢？』 | Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation; and honourest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people? |
| 30 | 因此，耶和華─以色列的 神 說：『我曾說，你 和你父 家 必永遠 行 在我面前；現在 我 卻說，決不容你們這樣行。因為 尊重我的，我必重看他；藐視我的，他必被輕視。 | Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the Lord saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed. |
| 31 | 日子 必到，我要折斷 你的膀臂 和 你父 家 的膀臂，使你家中 沒有 一個老年人。 | Behold, the days come, that I will cut off thine arm, and the arm of thy father’s house, that there shall not be an old man in thine house. |
| 32 | 在 神使 以色列人 享 福的時候，你必看見 我居所 的敗落。在你家中 必永遠 沒 有 一個老年人。 | And thou shalt see an enemy in my habitation, in all the wealth which God shall give Israel: and there shall not be an old man in thine house for ever. |
| 33 | 我必不 從 我壇 前滅盡 你家中的 人；那未滅的必使 你眼目 乾癟、 心中 憂傷。你家 中所生的人 都 必死 在中年。 | And the man of thine, whom I shall not cut off from mine altar, shall be to consume thine eyes, and to grieve thine heart: and all the increase of thine house shall die in the flower of their age. |
| 34 | 你的兩個 兒子 何弗尼、非尼哈 所 遭遇 的事 可作你的 證據：他們二人必一 日 同 死。 | And this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas; in one day they shall die both of them. |
| 35 | 我要為自己 立 一個忠心的 祭司；他必照 我的心 意 而行。我要為他 建立 堅固的 家；他必永遠 行 在我的受膏者 面前。 | And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever. |
| 36 | 你家 所剩下的 人都 必 來 叩拜 他，求塊 銀子，求個 餅，說：求 你賜我 祭司的職分，好叫我得點 餅 吃。』」 | And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left in thine house shall come and crouch to him for a piece of silver and a morsel of bread, and shall say, Put me, I pray thee, into one of the priests’ offices, that I may eat a piece of bread. |
