| 1 | 以法蓮 山地的拉瑪．瑣非 有 一個 以法蓮 人，名 叫以利加拿，是蘇弗 的玄孫，託戶 的曾孫，以利戶 的孫子，耶羅罕 的兒子。 | Now there was a certain man of Ramathaim–zophim, of mount Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephrathite: |
| 2 | 他有 兩個 妻：一 名 哈拿，一 名 毘尼拿。毘尼拿 有 兒女，哈拿 沒有 兒女。 | And he had two wives; the name of the one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah: and Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children. |
| 3 | 這 人 每年 從本城 上 到示羅，敬拜 祭祀 萬軍 之耶和華；在那裡 有以利 的兩個 兒子 何弗尼、非尼哈 當耶和華的 祭司。 | And this man went up out of his city yearly to worship and to sacrifice unto the Lord of hosts in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the Lord, were there. |

| 6 | 毘尼拿見 耶和華 不使 哈拿生育，就作她的對頭，大大激動她，要使 她生氣。 | And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the Lord had shut up her womb. |
| 7 | 每年 上 到耶和華 殿 的時候，以利加拿都以雙分給哈拿；毘尼拿仍是 激動她，以致她哭泣 不 吃飯。 | And as he did so year by year, when she went up to the house of the Lord, so she provoked her; therefore she wept, and did not eat. |
| 8 | 她丈夫 以利加拿 對她 說：「哈拿啊，你為何 哭泣， 不 吃飯， 心 裡愁悶呢？ 有我 不 比十個 兒子 還好嗎？」 | Then said Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why weepest thou? and why eatest thou not? and why is thy heart grieved? am not I better to thee than ten sons? |

| 11 | 許 願 說：「萬軍 之耶和華啊，你若 垂 顧 婢女 的苦情，眷念 不 忘 婢女，賜 我 一個兒子，我必使他 終 身 歸與耶和華，不 用剃頭刀 剃 他的頭。」 | And she vowed a vow, and said, O Lord of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head. |
| 12 | 哈拿在耶和華 面前 不住地 祈禱，以利 定睛看 她的嘴。 | And it came to pass, as she continued praying before the Lord, that Eli marked her mouth. |
| 13 | （原來哈拿 心 中 默禱，只 動 嘴唇，不 出 聲音，因此以利 以為 她 喝醉了。） | Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken. |
| 14 | 以利 對她 說：「你要醉 到 幾時呢？你 不應該喝 酒。」 | And Eli said unto her, How long wilt thou be drunken? put away thy wine from thee. |
| 15 | 哈拿 回答 說：「主啊，不是這樣。我 是心裡 愁苦 的婦人，清酒 濃酒 都沒有 喝，但在耶和華 面前 傾 心吐意。 | And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the Lord. |
| 16 | 不要 將 婢女 看 作 不正經的 女子。我因 被人激動，愁苦 太多，所以祈求 到 如今。」 | Count not thine handmaid for a daughter of Belial: for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief have I spoken hitherto. |
| 17 | 以利 說：「你可以平平安安地 回去。願以色列的 神 允准 你向他 所 求 的！」 | Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him. |
| 18 | 哈拿說：「願婢女 在你眼前 蒙 恩。」於是婦人 走 去 吃飯，面上 再 不 帶愁容了。 | And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad. |
| 19 | 次日清早，他們起來，在耶和華 面前 敬拜，就回 拉瑪。到 了 家裡，以利加拿 和 妻 哈拿 同房，耶和華 顧念哈拿， | And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the Lord, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the Lord remembered her. |
| 20 | 哈拿 就懷孕。 日期 滿足，生了 一個兒子，給他起 名 叫撒母耳，說：「這是 我從耶和華 那裡求來的。」 | Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the Lord. |
| 21 | 以利加拿 和他全 家 都上示羅去，要向耶和華 獻 年 祭，並 還所許的願。 | And the man Elkanah, and all his house, went up to offer unto the Lord the yearly sacrifice, and his vow. |
| 22 | 哈拿 卻沒有 上去， 對丈夫 說：「等 孩子 斷了奶，我便帶他 上去朝見 耶和華，使他 永遠 住 在那裡。」 | But Hannah went not up; for she said unto her husband, I will not go up until the child be weaned, and then I will bring him, that he may appear before the Lord, and there abide for ever. |
| 23 | 她丈夫 以利加拿 說：「就隨你 的意 行吧！可以等 兒子 斷了奶。但願 耶和華 應驗 他的話。」於是婦人 在家裡 乳養 兒子，直到 斷了奶； | And Elkanah her husband said unto her, Do what seemeth thee good; tarry until thou have weaned him; only the Lord establish his word. So the woman abode, and gave her son suck until she weaned him. |
| 24 | 既 斷了奶，就把孩子帶 上 示羅，到了 耶和華 的殿；又帶了三 隻公牛，一 伊法 細麵，一皮袋 酒。（那時，孩子 還小。） | And when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with three bullocks, and one ephah of flour, and a bottle of wine, and brought him unto the house of the Lord in Shiloh: and the child was young. |
| 25 | 宰了 一隻公牛，就領 孩子 到 以利面前。 | And they slew a bullock, and brought the child to Eli. |
| 26 | 婦人說：「主 啊，我敢在你 面前 起誓，從前在你 這裡 站著 祈求 耶和華 的那婦人，就是我。 | And she said, Oh my lord, as thy soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the Lord. |
| 27 | 我祈求 為要 得這 孩子；耶和華 已將我 所 求 的 賜 給我了。 | For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of him: |
| 28 | 所以，我 將這孩子歸 與耶和華，使他 終 身 歸 與耶和華。」於是在那裡 敬拜 耶和華。 | Therefore also I have lent him to the Lord; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the Lord. And he worshipped the Lord there. |
