| 1 | 大衛 到了 挪伯 祭司 亞希米勒那裡，亞希米勒 戰戰兢兢地 出來迎接 他，問他 說：「你 為甚麼 獨自來，沒有 人 跟隨呢？」 | Then came David to Nob to Ahimelech the priest: and Ahimelech was afraid at the meeting of David, and said unto him, Why art thou alone, and no man with thee? |
| 2 | 大衛 回答祭司 亞希米勒 說：「王 吩咐我 一件事 說：『 我 差遣你 委託你 的 這 件事，不要 使人 知道。』故此我已派定 少年人 在 某處等候我。 | And David said unto Ahimelech the priest, The king hath commanded me a business, and hath said unto me, Let no man know any thing of the business whereabout I send thee, and what I have commanded thee: and I have appointed my servants to such and such a place. |
| 3 | 現在 你手 下 有 甚麼？求你給 我 五個 餅 或是 別樣的食物。」 | Now therefore what is under thine hand? give me five loaves of bread in mine hand, or what there is present. |
| 4 | 祭司 對 大衛 說：「 我手 下 沒有 尋常的 餅，只 有 聖 餅；若 少年人 沒有 親近 婦人才可以給。」 | And the priest answered David, and said, There is no common bread under mine hand, but there is hallowed bread; if the young men have kept themselves at least from women. |
| 5 | 大衛 對 祭司 說：「實在 約有三 日 我們 沒有親近 婦人；我出來的時候，雖是 尋常 行路，少年人 的器皿 還是潔淨的；何況 今日 不更是 潔淨嗎？」 | And David answered the priest, and said unto him, Of a truth women have been kept from us about these three days, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are holy, and the bread is in a manner common, yea, though it were sanctified this day in the vessel. |

And David said, There is none like that; give it me. |

| 11 | 亞吉 的臣僕 對亞吉 說：「這 不是 以色列 國王 大衛嗎？那裡的婦女跳舞 唱和，不是 指著他 說『掃羅 殺死 千千，大衛 殺死萬萬』嗎？」 | And the servants of Achish said unto him, Is not this David the king of the land? did they not sing one to another of him in dances, saying, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands? |

| 14 | 亞吉 對 臣僕 說：「 你們看，這人 是瘋子。為甚麼 帶 他 到我這裡來呢？ | Then said Achish unto his servants, Lo, ye see the man is mad: wherefore then have ye brought him to me? |
| 15 | 我 豈缺少 瘋子， 你們帶 這人 來在我面前 瘋癲嗎？這人 豈可進 我的家呢？」 | Have I need of mad men, that ye have brought this fellow to play the mad man in my presence? shall this fellow come into my house? |
