| 2 | 他禁食 四十 晝 夜，後來 就餓了。 | And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. |
| 3 | 那試探人的 進前來，對他 說：「你若 是 神 的兒子，可以 吩咐 這些 石頭 變成 食物。」 | And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. |
| 4 | 耶穌 卻 回答 說：「經上記著說：人 活著，不是 單 靠 食物，乃是 靠 神 口 裡所出 的一切 話。」 | But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. |

| 8 | 魔鬼 又 帶 他 上了 一座最 高的 山， 將世上 的萬 國 與 萬國的 榮華 都指給他 看， | Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; |
| 9 | 對他 說：「你若 俯伏 拜 我，我就把這 一切 都賜給 你。」 | And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. |
| 10 | 耶穌 說：「撒但（就是抵擋的意思，乃魔鬼的別名），退去吧！因為 經上記著說：當拜 主－你的 神， 單要 事奉 他。」 | Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. |

| 13 | 後又 離開 拿撒勒，往迦百農 去，就住 在那裡。那地方 靠海，在 西布倫 和 拿弗他利 的邊界上。 | And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim: |

| 15 | 說：西布倫 地， 拿弗他利 地，就是沿海 的路，約旦河 外，外邦人 的加利利地─ | The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles; |
| 16 | 那 坐 在 黑暗 裡的百姓 看見了 大 光； 坐 在 死 蔭 之 地 的人有光 發現 照著他們。 | The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up. |
| 17 | 從 那時候，耶穌 就 傳起道來， 說：「 天 國 近了，你們應當悔改！」 | From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. |
| 18 | 耶穌在加利利 海 邊 行走，看見 弟兄 二人，就是那 稱呼 彼得 的西門 和 他 兄弟 安得烈，在 海 裡撒 網；他們本 是 打魚的。 | And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. |
| 19 | 耶穌對他們 說：「來 跟從 我， 我要叫 你們 得人 如得魚一樣。」 | And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. |
| 20 | 他們就 立刻 捨了 網，跟從了 他。 | And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. |
| 21 | 從那裡 往前走，又 看見 弟兄 二人，西庇太 的兒子 雅各 和 他 兄弟 約翰，同 他們的 父親 西庇太 在 船 上補 網，耶穌就 招呼 他們， | And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. |
| 22 | 他們立刻 捨了 船， 別了 父親，跟從了 耶穌。 | And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him. |
| 23 | 耶穌走 遍 加利利，在 各 會堂 裡教訓人， 傳 天國 的福音， 醫治 百姓 各樣的 病 症。 | And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. |
| 24 | 他的 名聲 就 傳 遍了 敘利亞。 那裡的人把一切 害 病的，就是害 各樣 疾病、 各樣疼痛 的和 被鬼附的、 癲癇的、 癱瘓的，都帶了來，耶穌就 治好了 他們。 | And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them. |
| 25 | 當下，有許多 人 從 加利利、 低加坡里、 耶路撒冷、 猶太、 約旦河 外 來跟著 他。 | And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judea, and from beyond Jordan. |
