1 耶穌離開 那裡， 來 到 自己的 家鄉； 門徒 也 跟從 他。 And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.
2 到了 安息日，他 在 會堂 裡教訓人。 眾人 聽見，就甚希奇，說：「這人 從哪裡 有這些事呢？ 所賜給 他 的是甚麼 智慧？ 他 手 所做 的是何等的 異能呢？ And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?
3 這 不 是 那木匠嗎？不是馬利亞的 兒子 雅各、 約西、 猶大、 西門的 長兄嗎？ 他 妹妹們 不 也是 在 我們 這裡嗎？」他們就厭棄他（厭棄他：原文是因 他 跌倒）。 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
4 耶穌 對他們 說：「 大凡先知，除了 本 地、 親屬、 本 家之外，沒有 不被人尊敬的。」 But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
5 耶穌就 在那裡 不 得 行 甚麼 異能，不過 按 手 在幾個 病人身上，治好他們。 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
6 他也 詫異 他們 不信，就 往 周圍 鄉村 教訓人去了。 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.
7 耶穌叫了 十二個門徒來， 差遣 他們 兩個 兩個地出去，也 賜給 他們 權柄，制伏污 鬼； And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;
8 並且 囑咐 他們：「 行路 的時候 不要帶 食物 和 口袋，腰袋 裡 也不要帶 錢，除了 柺杖 以外，甚麼都不要 帶； And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse:
9 只要 穿 鞋，也 不要 穿 兩件 褂子」； But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats.
10 又 對他們 說：「你們無論 到何處，進了 人的家，就住在 那裡，直到 離開 那地方。 And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place.
11 何處的人 不 接待 你們，不 聽 你們，你們離開 那裡的時候，就把 腳 上 的塵土 跺下去，對他們 作 見證。」 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
12 門徒就 出去 傳道，叫 人悔改， And they went out, and preached that men should repent.
13 又 趕出 許多的 鬼， 用油 抹了 許多 病人， 治好他們。 And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.
14 耶穌 的名聲 傳揚出來。希律 王 聽見了，就 說：「施洗 的約翰 從 死 裡復活了， 所以 這些異能 由 他 裡面發出來。」 And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.
15 但 別人 說：「是 以利亞。」又 有人 說：「是先知，正像 先知 中的一位。」 Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.
16 希律 聽見 卻 說：「是 我 所斬的 約翰，他 復活了。」 But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead.
17 先是希律 為他 兄弟 腓力 的妻子 希羅底 的緣故，差人去 拿住 約翰， 鎖 在 監裡，因為 希律已經娶了 那婦人。 For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias’ sake, his brother Philip’s wife: for he had married her.
18 約翰 曾對希律 說：「你 娶 你 兄弟的 妻子 是不 合理的。」 For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother’s wife.
19 於是 希羅底 懷恨 他， 想要 殺 他，只是 不 能； Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:
20 因為 希律 知道 約翰 是義 人， 是聖人，所以敬畏 他， 保護 他， 聽 他講論，就多照著行（有古卷：游移不定），並且 樂意 聽 他。 For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
21 有 一天，恰巧 是 希律 的生日，希律 擺設 筵席，請了 大臣 和 千夫長，並 加利利 作首領的。 And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;
22 希羅底 的 女兒 進來 跳舞，使希律 和 同席的人 都歡喜。王 就對女子 說：「你隨意 向我 求 甚麼， 我必給 你。」 And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.
23 又 對她 起誓說：「隨你向我 求 甚麼，就是 我 國 的一半，我也必給 你。」 And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.
24 她就 出去 對她 母親 說：「我可以求 甚麼呢？」 她母親說：「施洗 約翰 的頭。」 And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.
25 她就 急忙 進去 見 王，求 他說：「我願 王立時 把施洗 約翰 的頭 放在 盤子 裡給 我。」 And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
26 王 就 甚憂愁；但因 他所起的誓，又 因同席的 人，就不 肯 推辭， And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath’s sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.
27 隨即 差 一個護衛兵，吩咐 拿 約翰的 頭來。護衛兵就 去，在 監 裡斬了 約翰， And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,
28 把 頭 放在 盤子裡， 拿來 給 女子，女子 就 給 她 母親。 And brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother.
29 約翰的 門徒 聽見了，就 來 把他的 屍首 領去， 葬 在 墳墓裡。 And when his disciples heard of it, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.
30 使徒 聚集 到 耶穌那裡，將一切 所 做的事、 所 傳的道 全告訴 他。 And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.
31 他就 說：「你們 來， 同我暗暗地 到 曠野 地方 去歇一歇。」這是 因為 來 往 的人多，他們連吃飯 也 沒有 工夫。 And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
32 他們就 坐船，暗暗地 往 曠野 地方 去。 And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.
33 眾人看見 他們 去， 有許多 認識他們的，就 從 各 城 步行，一同跑 到那裡， 比他們 先趕到了。 And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.
34 耶穌出來，見 有許多 的人，就 憐憫 他們，因為 他們 如同 羊 沒 有 牧人一般，於是 開口 教訓 他們 許多道理。 And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
35 天 已經 晚了， 門徒 進前來，說：「這是 野 地， 天 已經 晚了， And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:
36 請叫眾人 散開，他們好 往 四面 鄉 村裡去，自己 買 甚麼 吃。」 Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.
37 耶穌回答 說：「你們 給 他們 吃吧。」 門徒 說：「我們可以去 買 二十兩 銀子 的餅 給 他們 吃嗎？」 He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?
38 耶穌 說：「你們有 多少 餅，可以去 看看。」 他們知道了，就說：「五個餅， 兩條 魚。」 He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.
39 耶穌吩咐 他們，叫眾人 一幫 一幫 地坐 在 青 草地上。 And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.
40 眾人就 一排 一排 地坐下，有 一百一排的， 有 五十一排的。 And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.
41 耶穌拿著 這五個 餅， 兩條 魚，望著 天 祝福， 擘開 餅， 遞給 門徒， 擺 在眾人面前，也 把那兩條 魚 分給 眾人。 And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.
42 他們都 吃，並且 吃飽了。 And they did all eat, and were filled.
43 門徒就 把碎餅 碎 魚 收拾起來，裝滿了 十二個 籃子。 And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.
44 吃 餅 的男人 共有 五千。 And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.
45 耶穌隨即 催 門徒 上 船， 先渡 到 那邊 伯賽大去，等 他 叫眾人 散開。 And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.
46 他既 辭別了 他們，就往 山上 去 禱告。 And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.
47 到了 晚上，船 在 海 中， 耶穌 獨自 在 岸上； And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.
48 看見 門徒 因 風 不順， 搖櫓 甚苦。夜裡 約有 四 更天，就在 海 面上走，往 他們 那裡去， 意思要 走過他們 去。 And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.
49 但 門徒看見 他 在 海 面上走，以為 是 鬼怪，就 喊叫起來； But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:
50 因為 他們都 看見了 他，且 甚驚慌。 耶穌連忙 對 他們 說：「你們放心！是 我，不要 怕！」 For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.
51 於是 到 他們那裡，上了 船，風 就 住了； 他們心裡 十分 驚奇。 And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.
52 這是因為 他們不 明白 那分餅的事， 心裡 還是 愚頑。 For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.
53 既 渡過去，來 到 革尼撒勒 地方，就 靠了岸， And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.
54 一下 船， 眾人認得 是耶穌， And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him,
55 就跑遍 那一帶地方，聽見 他在何處， 便將有 病的人 用 褥子 抬到 那裡。 And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.
56 凡 耶穌所到 的地方，或 村中，或 城裡，或 鄉間，他們都將病人 放 在 街市上， 求 耶穌 只 容他們摸 他的 衣裳 繸子； 凡 摸著的 人就都好了。 And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.
