| 2 | 王 吩咐 人將術士、用法術的、行邪術的，和迦勒底人 召來，要他們將王的夢 告訴 王，他們就來 站 在王 前。 | Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king. |

| 5 | 王 回答 迦勒底人 說：「夢我已經忘了（或譯：我 已定命；八節同），你們若 不 將夢 和夢的講解 告訴我，就必被凌遲，你們的房屋 必成為 糞堆； | The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill. |

| 8 | 王 回答 說：「我 准 知道 你們 是故意遲延，因為 你們知道 那夢 我 已經忘了。 | The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me. |
| 9 | 你們若 不 將夢 告訴我，只有 一 法待你們；因為你們預備了 謊言 亂 語 向我 說，要等候 時勢 改變。現在 你們要將夢 告訴 我，因我知道 你們能將夢的講解 告訴我。」 | But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof. |
| 10 | 迦勒底人 在王 面前 回答 說：「世 上 沒 有 人 能 將王 所問的事 說出來；因為 沒有 君王、大臣、掌權的向 術士，或用法術的，或迦勒底人 問 過這樣的 事。 | The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean. |
| 11 | 王 所 問 的事 甚難。除了 不 與 世人 同居 的 神明，沒 有 人 在王 面前 能說出來。」 | And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh. |
| 12 | 因此，王 氣忿忿地 大 發烈怒，吩咐 滅絕 巴比倫 所有的 哲士。 | For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon. |
| 13 | 於是 命令 發出，哲士 將要見殺，人就尋找 但以理 和他的同伴，要殺他們。 | And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain. |
| 14 | 王 的 護衛 長 亞略 出來，要殺 巴比倫 的哲士，但以理 就 用婉言 回答 他， | Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king’s guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon: |
| 15 | 向王 的 護衛長 亞略 說：「王 的 命令 為何 這樣緊急呢？」亞略 就 將情節 告訴 但以理。 | He answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel. |
| 16 | 但以理 遂進去 求 王 寬 限，就可以將夢的講解 告訴 王。 | Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation. |
| 17 | 但以理 回到 他的居所，將這事 告訴 他的同伴 哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亞撒利雅， | Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions: |
| 18 | 要他們祈求 天上的 神 施憐憫，將 這 奧祕 的事指明，免得 但以理 和他的同伴 與 巴比倫 其餘的 哲士 一同滅亡。 | That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. |
| 19 | 這奧祕 的事就 在 夜間 異象 中給但以理 顯明， 但以理 便稱頌 天上的 神。 | Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven. |
| 20 | 但以理 說：「 神 的 名 是 應當稱頌的！從 亙古 直到 永遠，因為 智慧 能力 都屬 乎他。 | Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: |
| 21 | 他 改變 時候、日期，廢 王，立 王，將智慧 賜 與智慧人，將知識 賜與聰明人。 | And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: |
| 22 | 他 顯明 深奧 隱祕的事，知道 暗中 所有的，光明 也與他 同居。 | He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him. |
| 23 | 我列祖的 神啊，我 感謝 你，讚美你，因 你將智慧 才能 賜 給我， 允准我們所 求的，把 王 的事 給我們指明。」 | I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king’s matter. |
| 24 | 於是，但以理 進去 見 亞略，就是 王 所派 滅絕 巴比倫 哲士的， 對他 說：「不要 滅絕 巴比倫 的哲士，求你領 我到王 面前，我要將夢的講解 告訴 王。」 | Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise men of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will shew unto the king the interpretation. |
| 25 | 亞略 就 急忙 將但以理 領到 王 面前，對王 說：「我在被擄 的 猶大人 中 遇見 一人，他 能將夢的講解 告訴 王。」 | Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation. |
| 26 | 王 問 稱 為 伯提沙撒 的但以理 說：「你 能 將我所 做 的夢 和夢的講解 告訴我嗎？」 | The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof? |
| 27 | 但以理 在王 面前 回答 說：「王 所 問 的那奧祕事，哲士、用法術的、術士、觀兆的 都不 能 告訴 王； | Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king; |
| 28 | 只 有 一位在天上的 神 能顯明 奧祕的事。他已將 日 後 必有 的事 指示 尼布甲尼撒 王。你的夢 和你在床 上 腦中 的異象 是 這樣： | But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these; |
| 29 | 王啊，你 在 床 上想 到 後 來 的事，那顯明 奧祕事 的主把 將來必有的事 指示你。 | As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass. |
| 30 | 至於那 奧祕的事 顯明 給我，並非 因 我 的智慧 勝過 一切 活人，乃 為 使王 知道 夢的講解 和 心裡 的思念。 | But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart. |
| 31 | 「王啊，你 夢見 一個 大 像，這 像 甚高，極其 光耀，站 在你面前，形狀 甚是可怕。 | Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible. |
| 32 | 這 像 的頭 是 精 金的，胸膛 和膀臂 是 銀的，肚腹 和腰 是 銅的， | This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, |
| 33 | 腿 是 鐵的，腳 是 半 鐵 半 泥的。 | His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay. |
| 34 | 你觀看， 見有一塊非 人手 鑿出來 的 石頭 打 在 這像 半鐵 半泥 的 腳上，把腳 砸碎； | Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. |
| 35 | 於是 金、銀、銅、鐵、泥 都一同 砸得粉碎，成如 夏天 禾場 上的 糠秕，被風 吹散， 無 處 可尋。打碎 這像 的 石頭 變成 一座大 山，充滿 天下。 | Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth. |
| 36 | 「這 就是那夢。我們在王 面前 要講解那夢。 | This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king. |
| 37 | 王啊，你 是諸王 之王。 天上的 神 已將國度、權柄、能力、尊榮 都賜 給你。 | Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. |
| 38 | 凡 世人 所 住 之地 的走獸，並天空 的飛鳥，他都交付 你手，使你掌管 這一切。你 就是那 金 頭。 | And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold. |
| 39 | 在你以後 必另 興 一國，不及於 你；又有 第三 國，就是 銅的，必 掌管 天下。 | And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth. |
| 40 | 第四 國，必 堅壯 如鐵， 鐵 能打碎 剋制 百物， 又能壓碎 一切，那國 也必打碎 壓制 列國。 | And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. |
| 41 | 你既 見 像的腳 和腳指頭，一半 是 窯匠 的 泥，一半 是鐵，那國 將來也必 分開。你既 見 鐵 與泥 攙雜，那國也必有 鐵 的 力量。 | And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. |
| 42 | 那腳 指頭，既是半 鐵 半 泥，那國 也必 半 強 半 弱。 | And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. |
| 43 | 你既 見 鐵 與泥 攙雜，那國民也必 與各種 人 攙雜，卻不 能 彼此 相合，正如 鐵 與 泥 不能 相合一樣。 | And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. |
| 44 | 當 那 列王 在位的時候，天上的 神 必另立 一國， 永 不 敗壞， 也不 歸 別 國的人，卻要打碎 滅絕 那 一切 國，這國 必存 到永遠。 | And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. |
| 45 | 你既 看見 非 人手 鑿出來 的 一塊石頭 從山而出，打碎 金、銀、銅、鐵、泥，那就是至大的 神 把後來 必有 的 事 給王 指明。這夢 準是這樣，這講解 也是確實的。」 | Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure. |
| 46 | 當時，尼布甲尼撒 王 俯伏 在 地，向但以理 下拜，並且吩咐 人給他 奉上 供物 和香品。 | Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him. |
| 47 | 王 對但以理 說：你既 能 顯明 這 奧祕的事，你們的 神 誠然 是 萬神 之神、萬王 之主，又是顯明 奧祕事的。」 | The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret. |
| 48 | 於是 王 高抬 但以理，賞賜 他 許多 上等 禮物，派他 管理 巴比倫 全 省，又立他為總理，掌管 巴比倫 的一切 哲士。 | Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon. |
| 49 | 但以理 求 王，王就派 沙得拉、米煞、亞伯尼歌 管理 巴比倫 省 的 事務，只是但以理 常在 朝中侍立。 | Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king. |
