| 1 | 我－保羅，就是 與 你們 見面 的時候是謙卑的， 不在 你們那裡的時候向 你們 是勇敢的，如今 親自 藉著 基督 的溫柔、 和平 勸 你們。 | Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you: |
| 2 | 有人 以為 我 是 憑著 血氣 行事，我也以為 必須用勇敢 待 這等人；求 你們不要 叫我在 你們那裡的時候，有這樣的勇敢。 | But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. |
| 3 | 因為 我們雖然在 血氣中 行事，卻不 憑著 血氣 爭戰。 | For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: |
| 4 | 我們 爭戰的 兵器 本不是 屬血氣的，乃是在 神 面前有能力，可以 攻破 堅固的營壘， | (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) |
| 5 | 將各樣的計謀， 各樣 攔阻 人認識 神 的那些自高之事，一概攻破了，又 將人所有的 心意 奪回，使 他都順服 基督。 | Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; |
| 6 | 並且 我已經 預備好了，等你們 十分 順服 的時候，要責罰 那一切 不順服的人。 | And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. |
| 7 | 你們是看 眼前的嗎？倘若 有人 自 信 是 屬基督的， 他 要再 想想， 他 如何 屬基督，我們 也是如何屬基督的。 | Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ’s, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ’s, even so are we Christ’s. |
| 8 | 主 賜給 我們權柄，是 要 造就你們，並 不是 要 敗壞 你們；我就是 為 這權柄 稍微 誇口，也不 至於慚愧。 | For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed: |
| 9 | 我說這話，免得 你們以為 我 寫信 是要威嚇 你們； | That I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters. |
| 10 | 因為 有人說：「他的信 又沉重 又 厲害，及至 見面，卻是氣貌不揚， 言語 粗俗的。」 | For his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible. |
| 11 | 這等人 當想， 我們不在那裡的時候， 信上 的言語 如何，見面的時候，行事也 必 如何。 | Let such an one think this, that, such as we are in word by letters when we are absent, such will we be also in deed when we are present. |
| 12 | 因為 我們不 敢 將自己 和那自 薦 的人 同列 相比。 他們 用 自己 度量 自己， 用自己 比較 自己，乃是不 通達的。 | For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. |
| 13 | 我們 不 願意分外 誇口，只要 照 神 所量 給我們 的界限 搆 到 你們那裡。 | But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you. |
| 14 | 我們並非 過了 自己的界限，好像 搆 不 到 你們那裡；因為 我們早到 你們那裡， 傳了基督 的福音。 | For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ: |
| 15 | 我們不 仗著 別人 所勞碌的，分外 誇口；但 指望 你們 信心 增長的時候， 所量給我們 的界限，就可以因著 你們 更加 開展， | Not boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men’s labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly, |
| 16 | 得以將福音傳 到 你們 以外的地方；並不是 在 別人 界限之內，藉著 他現成的 事誇口。 | To preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man’s line of things made ready to our hand. |
| 17 | 但 誇口的，當指著 主 誇口。 | But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. |
| 18 | 因為 蒙悅納的，不是 自己 稱許的， 乃是 主 所稱許的。 | For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth. |
