1 Аще уразумел еси время рождения коз живущих на горах каменных? Усмотрил же ли еси болезнь при рождении еленей? Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?
2 Изчислил же ли еси месяцы их исполнены рождения их, болезни же их разрешил ли еси? Canst thou number the months that they fulfil? or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?
3 Вскормил же ли еси детищы их вне страха, болезни же их отслеши ли? They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they cast out their sorrows.
4 Извергнут чада своя, умножатся в порождении, изыдут и не возвратятся к ним. Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up with corn; they go forth, and return not unto them.
5 Кто же есть пустивый осла дивияго свободна, узы же его кто разрешил? Who hath sent out the wild ass free? or who hath loosed the bands of the wild ass?
6 Положих же жилище его пустыню и селения его сланость: Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings.
7 смеяйся многу народу града, стужания же данническаго не слышай, He scorneth the multitude of the city, neither regardeth he the crying of the driver.
8 усмотрит на горах пажить себе и вслед всякаго злака ищет. The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing.
9 Похощет же ли ти единорог работати, или поспати при яслех твоих? Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?
10 Привяжеши ли ремением иго его, и провлечет ти бразды на поли? Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?
11 Надеешилися нань, яко многа крепость его? Попустиши же ли ему дела твоя? Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?
12 Повериши же ли, яко воздаст ти семя? Внесет же ли ти в гумно? Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn?
13 Крило веселящихся нееласса, аще зачнет асида и несса? Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?
14 Яко оставит на земли яица своя, и на персти согреет, Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust,
15 и забы, яко нога разбиет, и зверие селнии поперут: And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.
16 ожесточися на чада своя, аки бы не ея, вотще трудися без страха, She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers: her labour is in vain without fear;
17 яко сокры Бог ей премудрость и не удели ей в разуме: Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.
18 во время же на высоту вознесет, посмеется коню и седящему на нем. What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.
19 Или ты обложил еси коня силою, и облекл же ли еси выю его в страх? Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?
20 Обложил же ли еси его всеюружием, славу же персей его дерзостию? Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils is terrible.
21 Копытом копая на поли играет и исходит на поле с крепостию: He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men.
22 сретая стрелы посмеявается и не отвратится от железа: He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword.
23 над ним играет лук и мечь, The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield.
24 и гневом потребит землю и не имать веры яти, дондеже вострубит труба: He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet.
25 трубе же вострубившей глаголет, благоже: издалеча же обоняет рать, со скаканием и ржанием. He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.
26 И твоею ли хитростию стоит ястреб, распростер криле недвижимь, зря на юг? Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?
27 Твоим же ли повелением возносится орел, неясыть же на гнезде своем седя вселяется, Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high?
28 на версе камене и в сокровене? She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.
29 Тамо же сый ищет брашна, издалеча очи его наблюдают, From thence she seeketh the prey, and her eyes behold afar off.
30 птичищи же его валяются в крови: идеже аще будут мертвечины, абие обретаются. Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she.
31 И отвеща Господь Бог ко Иову и рече: —
32 еда суд со Всесильным укланяется? Обличаяй же Бога отвещати имать Ему. —
33 Отвещав же Иов, рече Господеви: —
34 почто еще аз прюся, наказуемь и обличаемь от Господа, слышай таковая ничтоже сый? Аз же кий ответ дам к сим? Руку положу на устех моих: —
35 единою глаголах, вторицею же не приложу. —
