1 Отвещав же Иов, рече: Then Job answered and said,
2 доколе притрудну творите душу мою и низлагаете мя словесы? Уразумейте токмо, яко Господь сотвори мя сице. How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?
3 Клевещете на мя, не стыдящеся мене належите ми. These ten times have ye reproached me: ye are not ashamed that ye make yourselves strange to me.
4 Буди, яко воистинну аз прельстихся, и у мене водворяется погрешение, глаголати словеса, яже не подобаше, словеса же моя погрешают, и не во время: And be it indeed that I have erred, mine error remaineth with myself.
5 буди же, яко на мя величаетеся, наскакаете же ми поношением: If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach:
6 разумейте убо, яко Господь есть иже смяте мя и ограду Свою на мя вознесе. Know now that God hath overthrown me, and hath compassed me with his net.
7 Се, смеюся поношению, не возглаголю: возопию, и нигдеже суд. Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no judgment.
8 Окрест огражден есмь и не могу прейти: пред лицем моим тму положи, He hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath set darkness in my paths.
9 славу же с мене совлече и отя венец от главы моея: He hath stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.
10 растерза мя окрест, и отидох: посече же яко древо надежду мою. He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope hath he removed like a tree.
11 Люте же гнева употреби на мя и возмне мя яко врага. He hath also kindled his wrath against me, and he counteth me unto him as one of his enemies.
12 Вкупе же приидоша искушения Его на мя, на путех же моих обыдоша мя наветницы. His troops come together, and raise up their way against me, and encamp round about my tabernacle.
13 Братия моя отступиша от мене, познаша чуждих паче мене, и друзие мои немилостиви быша: He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are verily estranged from me.
14 не снабдеша мя ближнии мои, и ведящии имя мое забыша мя. My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.
15 Соседи дому и рабыни моя, (яко) иноплеменник бых пред ними: They that dwell in mine house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an alien in their sight.
16 раба моего звах, и не послуша, уста же моя моляхуся: I called my servant, and he gave me no answer; I intreated him with my mouth.
17 и просих жену мою, призывах же лаская сыны подложниц моих: My breath is strange to my wife, though I intreated for the children’s sake of mine own body.
18 они же мене в век отринуша, егда востану, на мя глаголют. Yea, young children despised me; I arose, and they spake against me.
19 Гнушахуся мене видящии мя, и ихже любих, восташа на мя. All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.
20 В кожи моей согниша плоти моя, кости же моя в зубех содержатся. My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.
21 Помилуйте мя, помилуйте мя, о, друзие! Рука бо Господня коснувшаяся ми есть. Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.
22 Почто мя гоните якоже и Господь? От плотей же моих не насыщаетеся? Why do ye persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?
23 Кто бо дал бы, да напишутся словеса моя, и положатся оная в книзе во век? Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!
24 И на дщице железне и олове, или на камениих изваяются? That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!
25 Вем бо, яко присносущен есть, иже имать искупити мя, For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
26 (и) на земли воскресити кожу мою терпящую сия, от Господа бо ми сия совершишася, And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
27 яже аз в себе свем, яже очи мои видеста, а не ин: вся же ми совершишася в недре. Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.
28 Аще же и речете: что речем противу ему? И корень словесе обрящем в нем. But ye should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?
29 Убойтеся же и вы от меча: ярость бо на беззаконныя найдет, и тогда увидят, где есть их вещество. Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment.
