| 1 | 智慧建室、鑿其七柱、 | Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars: |
| 2 | 宰畜調酒、肆筵設席、 | She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table. |
| 3 | 遣婢速客、己於邑之高處呼曰、 | She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city, |
| 4 | 誰爲庸人、可轉而入此、 | Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him, |
| 5 | 謂無知者曰、來食我餅、飲我所調之酒、 | Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled. |
| 6 | 維爾庸人、離庸愚、得生存、行於明哲之路、○ | Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding. |
| 7 | 責侮慢者、自招詆毀、斥邪惡者、自取玷汚、 | He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot. |
| 8 | 勿責侮慢者、恐其憾爾、宜責智慧者、彼乃愛爾、 | Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee. |
| 9 | 訓迪智人、其智必益、教誨義人、其學必進、 | Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. |
| 10 | 寅畏耶和華、爲智慧之肇始、識聖者爲明哲、 | The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. |
| 11 | 蓋由於我、加爾時日、增爾年齡、 | For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased. |
| 12 | 若爾有智、爲己有之、若爾侮慢、一己承之、○ | If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it. |
| 13 | 愚婦喧呶、庸愚無知、 | A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing. |
| 14 | 在其室門之前、坐於邑中高阜之座、 | For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city, |
| 15 | 路人徑行其道、則呼之曰、 | To call passengers who go right on their ways: |
| 16 | 誰爲庸人、可轉而入此、 | Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him, |
| 17 | 謂無知者曰、竊取之水乃甘、暗食之餅有味、 | Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. |
| 18 | 惟其人不知幽魂在此、其客在陰府之深處、 | But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell. |
