| 1 | 我子、注意我之智慧、傾聽我之明哲、 | My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding: |
| 2 | 致爾謹守精明、口存知識、 | That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge. |
| 3 | 惟彼淫婦、脣如滴蜜、口滑於油、 | For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: |
| 4 | 終則苦若茵陳、利如刀劍、 | But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword. |
| 5 | 其足下及死域、其步臨於陰府、 | Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell. |
| 6 | 生命坦途、彼不之得、其徑靡常、彼不自知、 | Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them. |
| 7 | 諸子宜聽、勿違我口所言、 | Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth. |
| 8 | 爾行宜遠之、勿近其室門、 | Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house: |
| 9 | 免爾尊榮畀他人、歲月供殘暴、 | Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel: |
| 10 | 資財充於外人、辛勞歸於他家、 | Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger; |
| 11 | 終則形銷體敗、難免咨嗟、 | And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed, |
| 12 | 乃曰、我何恨惡訓誨、心輕斥責、 | And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; |
| 13 | 不從師言、不聽傅訓、 | And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me! |
| 14 | 於羣衆大會中、幾干諸咎、 | I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly. |
| 15 | 當飲己池之水、飲己井之活水、 | Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well. |
| 16 | 爾泉豈可外溢、爾溪豈可流入街衢、 | Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets. |
| 17 | 當獨爲己有、不公諸外人、 | Let them be only thine own, and not strangers’ with thee. |
| 18 | 俾爾泉蒙福、樂爾少時之妻、 | Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. |
| 19 | 視如馴鹿、可悅之麀、恆饜於其懷、永戀乎其愛、 | Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love. |
| 20 | 我子、胡爲眷戀淫婦、擁抱外婦、 | And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger? |
| 21 | 蓋人之途、在耶和華目前、其徑爲彼所治、 | For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he pondereth all his goings. |
| 22 | 惡者必爲己惡所拘、己罪所縛、 | His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins. |
| 23 | 緣缺訓誨、必致死亡、因其愚甚、必入歧途、 | He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray. |
