| 1 | 我子、爾若聽受我言、默識我誡、 | My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; |
| 2 | 傾耳以聆智慧、盡心以求通達、 | So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; |
| 3 | 呼籲明哲、揚聲以求通達、 | Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; |
| 4 | 尋之如銀、索之如寶、 | If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; |
| 5 | 則必知寅畏耶和華、得識上帝、 | Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. |
| 6 | 蓋耶和華錫予智慧、知識通明、出於其口、 | For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. |
| 7 | 爲正直者蓄眞智、爲行端者之盾干、 | He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. |
| 8 | 守公平之道、衞聖民之途、 | He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. |
| 9 | 爾則達義理、公平正直、及諸善路、 | Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path. |
| 10 | 蓋智慧將入爾心、知識將悅爾魂、 | When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; |
| 11 | 精明必衞爾、通達必保爾、 | Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: |
| 12 | 援爾於惡者之道、脫出詞乖謬之人、 | To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; |
| 13 | 若輩離乎正路、行於暗途、 | Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; |
| 14 | 喜於作惡、悅惡者之乖戾、 | Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; |
| 15 | 其途邪曲、其徑偏僻、 | Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths: |
| 16 | 維彼智慧、必援爾於淫婦、卽諂言之外婦、 | To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; |
| 17 | 彼乃遺棄少時之偶、忘其上帝之約、 | Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God. |
| 18 | 其室陷於死域、其途歸於幽魂、 | For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead. |
| 19 | 凡詣之者、不復旋返、不得生路、 | None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life. |
| 20 | 維彼智慧、俾爾行善人之途、守義人之徑、 | That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous. |
| 21 | 正人必居於大地、完人恆存於寰區、 | For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. |
| 22 | 惟惡者被絕、譎者見拔於其中、 | But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it. |
