| 1 | 王之心志、在耶和華掌握、如溝洫之水、隨意運轉之、 | The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will. |
| 2 | 人之所行、自視爲正、惟耶和華權衡人心、 | Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts. |
| 3 | 行義秉公、耶和華所悅納、愈於獻祭、 | To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. |
| 4 | 目高心傲、惡人昌熾、俱爲罪戾、 | An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin. |
| 5 | 勤者之思維、足致豐裕、急躁者、乃急貧窮、 | The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want. |
| 6 | 以詭詞得財、如追浮氣、適以取死、 | The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death. |
| 7 | 惡者不行義、其暴戾必覆之、 | The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment. |
| 8 | 負罪者之路邪曲、清潔者之行正直、 | The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right. |
| 9 | 寧處屋頂之隅、勿與悍婦共居廣廈、 | It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house. |
| 10 | 惡者幸人之災、鄰里罔沾其惠、 | The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes. |
| 11 | 侮慢者受刑、則拙人爲睿、智慧者受訓、則知識愈增、 | When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge. |
| 12 | 惡人之家、義者度之、知其必覆而亡、 | The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness. |
| 13 | 貧者呼籲、塞耳弗聞、則己呼籲、亦莫之聽、 | Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard. |
| 14 | 暗中投贈、氣憤胥平、饋遺入懷、烈怒以息、 | A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath. |
| 15 | 秉公而行、於義人爲喜樂、於惡人爲敗壞、 | It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. |
| 16 | 迷失通達之途、必居幽魂之會、 | The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead. |
| 17 | 好宴樂者、必爲窮乏、好酒膏者、不致富饒、 | He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich. |
| 18 | 惡者爲義者之贖、奸者爲正者之代、 | The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright. |
| 19 | 寧處曠野、不與好爭煩懣之婦偕居、 | It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman. |
| 20 | 智者之家、藏寶與膏、蠢者吞噬所有、 | There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up. |
| 21 | 追求仁義者、則得生命、公義尊榮、 | He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour. |
| 22 | 智者登勇士之城、敗其所恃之勢、 | A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof. |
| 23 | 守口舌者、保生免害、 | Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles. |
| 24 | 驕矜者名曰侮慢、惟恃狂傲而妄行、 | Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath. |
| 25 | 惰者手不操作、爲其願欲所殺、 | The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour. |
| 26 | 有人終日貪求、義者施舍不吝、 | He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not. |
| 27 | 惡者之祭爲可憎、況以惡意獻之乎、 | The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind? |
| 28 | 妄證者必敗、據所聞而證之者、其言恆存、 | A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly. |
| 29 | 惡者厚其顏、正人定其行、 | A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way. |
| 30 | 智慧明哲謀畧、無有能敵耶和華者、 | There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord. |
| 31 | 備馬待戰、惟獲勝在於耶和華、 | The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord. |
