| 1 | 悅勸懲者、乃悅知識、惡斥責者、是爲愚蠢、 | Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish. |
| 2 | 行善者、耶和華必錫以恩、謀惡者、必定其罪、 | A good man obtaineth favour of the Lord: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn. |
| 3 | 人恃其惡、不能堅立、義者之根、永不動移、 | A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved. |
| 4 | 淑善之女、爲夫首之冠冕、啟羞之女、如夫骨之腐朽、 | A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones. |
| 5 | 義人之思維公平、惡人之計謀詭詐、 | The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit. |
| 6 | 惡者所言、無非潛伏流血、正人之口、必救其人、 | The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them. |
| 7 | 惡人傾覆、歸於烏有、義者之家、恆久存立、 | The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand. |
| 8 | 循人智慧而加揄揚、惟心乖者、則受蔑視、 | A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised. |
| 9 | 居卑而有役、愈於自大而乏食、 | He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread. |
| 10 | 義人恤其牲畜之命、惟惡者之仁慈、無非殘忍、 | A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. |
| 11 | 力其田者足食、從虛浮者無知、 | He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding. |
| 12 | 惡人罔利、惡人欲得其網、義者之根、自結其實、 | The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit. |
| 13 | 惡者網於口過、義者脫於患難、 | The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble. |
| 14 | 人因口果而飽以福、依手所爲而得其報、 | A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man’s hands shall be rendered unto him. |
| 15 | 愚者視己之途爲正、智者惟人之訓是聽、 | The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise. |
| 16 | 愚者有怒卽見、智者受辱隱忍、 | A fool’s wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame. |
| 17 | 言誠者著公義、僞證者顯奸欺、 | He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit. |
| 18 | 浮躁之言、如鋒刃之刺、智者之舌、有療疾之能、 | There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health. |
| 19 | 言誠必永立、言誑只須臾、 | The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment. |
| 20 | 謀惡者心存詭譎、勸和者必得喜樂、 | Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy. |
| 21 | 義者不遘禍、惡者有餘殃、 | There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief. |
| 22 | 言誑之口、爲耶和華所惡、踐實之人、爲其所悅、 | Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight. |
| 23 | 哲人隱藏其智、蠢者心播其愚、 | A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness. |
| 24 | 勤者手操其柄、惰者必服厥役、 | The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute. |
| 25 | 人心懷憂則抑鬱、惟聞善言則歡娛、 | Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad. |
| 26 | 義者爲鄰先導、惡者所行、使之迷途、 | The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them. |
| 27 | 惰者不燔所獵、勤者所寶維勤、 | The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious. |
| 28 | 義路有生命、其途無死亡、 | In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death. |
