| 1 | 猶大王西底家十年、卽尼布甲尼撒十八年、耶和華諭耶利米之言、 | The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar. |
| 2 | 維時、巴比倫王軍旅圍耶路撒冷、先知耶利米幽於護軍之院、在猶大王宮中、 | For then the king of Babylon’s army besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the king of Judah’s house. |
| 3 | 蓋猶大王西底家囚之、曰、爾奚預言曰、耶和華云、我必付此邑於巴比倫王手、彼必取之、 | For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore dost thou prophesy, and say, Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it; |
| 4 | 且猶大王西底家、不得脫迦勒底人手、必付於巴比倫王、而與之言、口相對、目相視、 | And Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes; |
| 5 | 必攜西底家至巴比倫、居彼、迨我眷顧之之時、爾曹雖與迦勒底人戰、必不利達、耶和華言之矣、○ | And he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, saith the Lord: though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper. |

| 7 | 爾叔沙龍子哈拿篾、將詣爾曰、我在亞拿突之田、請爾購之、蓋贖此田、乃爾所宜、爾可購之、 | Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum thine uncle shall come unto thee, saying, Buy thee my field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is thine to buy it. |
| 8 | 我叔之子哈拿篾、循耶和華言、詣護軍之院、謂我曰、我在便雅憫地亞拿突之田、請爾購之、蓋贖此田、承此業、皆爾所宜、請爾購爲己有、我乃知此爲耶和華之言、 | So Hanameel mine uncle’s son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the Lord, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; buy it for thyself. Then I knew that this was the word of the Lord. |
| 9 | 遂購我叔子哈拿篾在亞拿突之田、爲權其銀、十七舍客勒、 | And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle’s son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver. |
| 10 | 簽名緘封、延證者、權銀以與之、 | And I subscribed the evidence, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances. |
| 11 | 我以二契、卽循例而緘者、及未緘者、 | So I took the evidence of the purchase, both that which was sealed according to the law and custom, and that which was open: |
| 12 | 付於瑪西雅孫、尼利亞子巴錄手、在我叔子哈拿篾、及署名於契之證人前、坐於護軍院之猶大人、咸目覩之、 | And I gave the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine uncle’s son, and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the book of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the prison. |
| 13 | 我於衆前囑巴錄曰、 | And I charged Baruch before them, saying, |
| 14 | 萬軍之耶和華、以色列之上帝云、取此購田之契、緘者與未緘者、藏諸瓦器、存至日久、 | Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Take these evidences, this evidence of the purchase, both which is sealed, and this evidence which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may continue many days. |
| 15 | 蓋萬軍之耶和華、以色列之上帝曰、在於斯土、人必復購第宅田疇、及葡萄園焉、○ | For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land. |
| 16 | 我旣付契於尼利亞子巴錄、乃禱耶和華曰、 | Now when I had delivered the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed unto the Lord, saying, |
| 17 | 主耶和華歟、爾以巨能奮臂、肇造天地、無一不能爲之事、 | Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: |
| 18 | 爾施慈惠於億兆、以父之罪、報及其子之身、惟皇全能之上帝、厥名萬軍之耶和華、 | Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the Lord of hosts, is his name, |
| 19 | 經綸維大、作爲有能、爾目洞察世人之道、按其所由之途、所結之果、而加報施、 | Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings: |
| 20 | 在埃及地、於以色列人及異族中、自昔迄今、屢行異蹟奇事、致顯己名、有如今日、 | Which hast set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even unto this day, and in Israel, and among other men; and hast made thee a name, as at this day; |
| 21 | 以異蹟奇事、能手奮臂、及大而可畏之事、導爾民以色列出埃及地、 | And hast brought forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with great terror; |
| 22 | 錫以斯土、卽誓錫厥祖流乳與蜜之地、 | And hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey; |
| 23 | 彼入而據之、乃不從爾言、不循爾律、凡爾所命、無一遵行、故爾降以是災、 | And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them: |
| 24 | 今敵迫城築壘、欲攻取之、因鋒刃饑饉疫癘、此邑付於迦勒底人手、爾言已驗、爾目覩之矣、 | Behold the mounts, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it. |
| 25 | 主耶和華歟、爾諭我曰、以金購田、亦延證者、而此邑乃付於迦勒底人手、○ | And thou hast said unto me, O Lord God, Buy thee the field for money, and take witnesses; for the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans. |
| 26 | 耶和華諭耶利米曰、 | Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, saying, |
| 27 | 我乃耶和華、凡有血氣者之上帝、豈有不能爲之事哉、 | Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? |
| 28 | 耶和華曰、我必付是邑於迦勒底人、及巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒之手、彼必至而取之、 | Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it: |
| 29 | 攻斯邑之迦勒底人、必縱火焚之、爰及屋宇、民在其巔、焚香於巴力、灌奠於他神、激我震怒之所、 | And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set fire on this city, and burn it with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered incense unto Baal, and poured out drink offerings unto other gods, to provoke me to anger. |
| 30 | 耶和華曰、以色列人與猶大人、自少行我所惡、以色列人專以其手所爲、激我震怒、 | For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have only done evil before me from their youth: for the children of Israel have only provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, saith the Lord. |
| 31 | 此邑自始建、迄於今日、干我怒、激我忿、致屛之於我前、 | For this city hath been to me as a provocation of mine anger and of my fury from the day that they built it even unto this day; that I should remove it from before my face, |
| 32 | 蓋以色列人與猶大人、及其君王牧伯、祭司先知、曁猶大衆、耶路撒冷居民、惟惡是作、以激我怒、 | Because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. |
| 33 | 彼背我、而不面我、我雖夙興而誨之、彼猶不聽從、不受教、 | And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction. |
| 34 | 以其可憎之物、置於我寄名之室、以汚衊之、 | But they set their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it. |
| 35 | 且在欣嫩子谷、爲巴力建崇邱、使其子女經火、以奉摩洛、行此可憎之事、陷猶大於罪、非我所命、非我所思、○ | And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin. |
| 36 | 論及是邑、爾言因鋒刃饑饉疫癘、付於巴比倫王手、以色列之上帝耶和華曰、 | And now therefore thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning this city, whereof ye say, It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence; |
| 37 | 昔我發忿震怒盛氣、驅斯民於列邦、我必自彼導之復歸斯土、使之安居、 | Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely: |
| 38 | 彼必爲我民、我爲其上帝、 | And they shall be my people, and I will be their God: |
| 39 | 我必賦以一心一道、致恆寅畏我、俾彼及厥裔、得獲福祉、 | And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them: |
| 40 | 我與之立永約、錫以福祉、不轉離之、使其存心寅畏我、而不我離、 | And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me. |
| 41 | 我必爲之欣樂、錫以福祉、亦必專心致志、植之於斯土、 | Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul. |
| 42 | 耶和華曰、我於斯民、旣加以巨災、亦必降以所許之福、 | For thus saith the Lord; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them. |
| 43 | 爾言斯土荒蕪、人畜俱泯、付於迦勒底人手、厥後人必復購田疇於斯土、 | And fields shall be bought in this land, whereof ye say, It is desolate without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans. |
| 44 | 在便雅憫地、耶路撒冷四周、猶大諸邑、及山地窪地、南土之諸邑、人必以金購田、簽名緘封延證、因我必返其俘囚、耶和華言之矣、 | Men shall buy fields for money, and subscribe evidences, and seal them, and take witnesses in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the mountains, and in the cities of the valley, and in the cities of the south: for I will cause their captivity to return, saith the Lord. |
