1 示巴女王聞所羅門之名譽、則往耶路撒冷、欲以難語試之、從者甚衆、有駝負香品、及黃金甚多、亦有寶石、見所羅門、悉以中心所存者與之言、 And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great company, and camels that bare spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.
2 其所問者、所羅門俱答之、無有一事不明、而不告之、 And Solomon told her all her questions: and there was nothing hid from Solomon which he told her not.
3 示巴女王見所羅門之智慧、所建之宮室、 And when the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,
4 筵席之餚饌、羣臣之坐次、衆僕之侍立、與其服飾、酒政與其服飾、及陞耶和華室之階、則神爲之奪、 And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel; his cupbearers also, and their apparel; and his ascent by which he went up into the house of the Lord; there was no more spirit in her.
5 謂王曰、我在我國、所聞爾之行爲智慧、洵不誣也、 And she said to the king, It was a true report which I heard in mine own land of thine acts, and of thy wisdom:
6 我未至而目擊、則不信其言、今知爾之智慧廣大、所告我者、猶未及半、爾之實蹟、越於我所聞之名譽、 Howbeit I believed not their words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the one half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told me: for thou exceedest the fame that I heard.
7 爾之羣臣、爾之衆僕、恆侍爾前、聞爾智慧、其有福矣、 Happy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom.
8 爾上帝耶和華悅爾、置於其國位、爲爾上帝耶和華爲王、宜頌美焉、蓋爾上帝愛以色列、欲永固之、故立爾爲其王、施行公義、 Blessed be the Lord thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, to be king for the Lord thy God: because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore made he thee king over them, to do judgment and justice.
9 於是示巴女王以黃金一百二十他連得、香品甚多、及厥寶石、饋所羅門王、所饋王之香品、未有若此者也、 And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices great abundance, and precious stones: neither was there any such spice as the queen of Sheba gave king Solomon.
10 戶蘭僕與所羅門僕、自俄斐運金者、亦運檀木寶石、 And the servants also of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, which brought gold from Ophir, brought algum trees and precious stones.
11 王以檀木、爲耶和華室及王宮作臺、又爲謳歌者作琴與瑟、在猶大地、從未見若此者、 And the king made of the algum trees terraces to the house of the Lord, and to the king’s palace, and harps and psalteries for singers: and there were none such seen before in the land of Judah.
12 所羅門王依女王所饋而遺之、凡其所欲所求、悉予之、遂與其臣僕返故土、○ And king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that which she had brought unto the king. So she turned, and went away to her own land, she and her servants.
13 所羅門歲得金六百六十六他連得、 Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and threescore and six talents of gold;
14 此外、又有商賈所進之金、亞拉伯列王及其牧伯、亦進金銀於所羅門、 Beside that which chapmen and merchants brought. And all the kings of Arabia and governors of the country brought gold and silver to Solomon.
15 所羅門王以煉金作盾二百、每盾需金六百舍客勒、 And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of beaten gold went to one target.
16 又以煉金作干三百、每干需金三百舍客勒、王置於利巴嫩林宮、 And three hundred shields made he of beaten gold: three hundred shekels of gold went to one shield. And the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
17 又以象牙製大寶座一、包以精金、 Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.
18 其階六級、有金足几、與座相連、座之左右有扶手、二獅旁立、 And there were six steps to the throne, with a footstool of gold, which were fastened to the throne, and stays on each side of the sitting place, and two lions standing by the stays:
19 六級各有二獅、左一右一、共十有二、他國未有若是之製也、 And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps. There was not the like made in any kingdom.
20 所羅門王所有之爵、悉以金製、利巴嫩林宮諸器、皆爲精金、當所羅門時、銀不爲貴、 And all the drinking vessels of king Solomon were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: none were of silver; it was not any thing accounted of in the days of Solomon.
21 因王有舟、與戶蘭僕同往他施、其舟三年一返、載金銀、象牙、猿猴、孔雀而歸、 For the king’s ships went to Tarshish with the servants of Huram: every three years once came the ships of Tarshish bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.
22 所羅門王之貨財與智慧、超乎天下列王、 And king Solomon passed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.
23 天下列王、咸求見所羅門、以聽其智慧、卽上帝賦於其心者、 And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, that God had put in his heart.
24 各進貢物、卽金器銀器、衣服軍械、香品馬騾、歲有定例、 And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and raiment, harness, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.
25 所羅門有服車之馬四千廐、騎兵一萬二千、置於屯車之邑、及王都耶路撒冷、 And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; whom he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
26 所羅門統轄諸王、自大河至非利士地、延及埃及界、 And he reigned over all the kings from the river even unto the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt.
27 王使銀在耶路撒冷如石、香柏多如谷中之桑、 And the king made silver in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the low plains in abundance.
28 有爲所羅門驅馬、自埃及與列國而至、○ And they brought unto Solomon horses out of Egypt, and out of all lands.
29 所羅門其餘事蹟之始末、載於先知拿單書、與示羅人亞希雅預言之書、及先見易多論尼八子耶羅波安、啟示之書、 Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer against Jeroboam the son of Nebat?
30 所羅門在耶路撒冷爲以色列全族之王、歷四十年、 And Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.
31 與其列祖偕眠、葬於父大衞城、子羅波安嗣位、 And Solomon slept with his fathers, and he was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.
