| 1 | 上帝之神感俄德子亞撒利雅、 | And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded: |
| 2 | 乃出迎亞撒、謂之曰、亞撒及猶大便雅憫衆歟、其聽我言、爾若從耶和華、耶和華則偕爾、爾若求之、則必遇之、爾若棄彼、彼必棄爾、 | And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The Lord is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you. |
| 3 | 以色列人無眞神、無訓誨之祭司、亦無法律、爲日已久、 | Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law. |
| 4 | 惟遭難時、則歸向以色列之上帝耶和華、尋求而遇之、 | But when they in their trouble did turn unto the Lord God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them. |
| 5 | 爾時、人之出入、不得平康、列國居民、大受騷擾、 | And in those times there was no peace to him that went out, nor to him that came in, but great vexations were upon all the inhabitants of the countries. |
| 6 | 國攻國、邑攻邑、互相糜爛、蓋上帝以諸難擾之也、 | And nation was destroyed of nation, and city of city: for God did vex them with all adversity. |
| 7 | 其強乃心、勿弱厥手、緣爾所爲、必獲其賞、 | Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded. |
| 8 | 亞撒聞俄德子先知亞撒利雅之預言、則強厥志、於猶大便雅憫全地、及以法蓮山地所得之邑、除諸可憎之物、重修廊前耶和華之壇、 | And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of the Lord, that was before the porch of the Lord. |
| 9 | 集猶大便雅憫衆、以及旅於其中之以法蓮人、瑪拿西人、西緬人、蓋以色列人見上帝耶和華偕亞撒、歸之者甚衆、 | And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the Lord his God was with him. |
| 10 | 亞撒十五年三月、衆集於耶路撒冷、 | So they gathered themselves together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa. |
| 11 | 是日於所獲之物中、以牛七百、羊七千、獻於耶和華、 | And they offered unto the Lord the same time, of the spoil which they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep. |
| 12 | 立約、一心一意尋求其列祖之上帝耶和華、 | And they entered into a covenant to seek the Lord God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul; |
| 13 | 凡不尋求以色列之上帝耶和華者、無論尊卑男女、必致之死、 | That whosoever would not seek the Lord God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. |
| 14 | 乃大聲而呼、吹角與笳、向耶和華而誓、 | And they sware unto the Lord with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets. |
| 15 | 猶大人咸喜此誓、因其盡心而誓、盡意尋求耶和華而遇之、耶和華亦錫之四境綏安、 | And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the Lord gave them rest round about. |
| 16 | 亞撒王貶其祖母瑪迦太后之位、因其爲亞舍拉作可憎之像、亞撒乃斫其像、搗之爲粉、焚於汲淪溪濱、 | And also concerning Maachah the mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove: and Asa cut down her idol, and stamped it, and burnt it at the brook Kidron. |
| 17 | 惟以色列中之崇邱、尚未去之、然亞撒之心、畢生專一、 | But the high places were not taken away out of Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days. |
| 18 | 以父及己所獻之金銀與器皿、進奉於上帝室、 | And he brought into the house of God the things that his father had dedicated, and that he himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels. |
| 19 | 嗣後至亞撒三十五年、不復有戰事、 | And there was no more war unto the five and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa. |
